  • Patent number: 6579176
Abstract: A computer-based growing simulation method and system is adaptable for a game and particularly a role playing game that reflects the growth of a selected role. In the game, the system will generate many different events such as simulated environments. Each simulated environment includes simulated lifelike objects (such as views or things) and conditions or selection items for the role to behave. Each condition or selection item links or relates to a selected object. The growth journeys are shown through the role's progress in the game. The game does not progress in a fixed path or rounds format, but is determined by the behavior of the role in the game. The role's growth status is indicated by a set of corresponding parameter groups. The parameter groups will change and accumulate according to the role's growth journey. Variations of the parameter groups will reflect the player's growth journey and feelings in the real world.

  • Patent number: 6571569
Abstract: The subject invention pertains to a method and apparatus for high heat flux heat transfer. The subject invention can be utilized to transfer heat from a heat source to a coolant such that the transferred heat can be effectively transported to another location. Examples of heat sources from which heat can be transferred from include, for example, fluids and surfaces. The coolant to which the heat is transferred can be sprayed onto a surface which is in thermal contact with the heat source, such that the coolant sprayed onto the surface in thermal contact with the heat absorbs heat from the surface and carries the absorbed heat away as the coolant leaves the surface. The surface can be, for example, the surface of an interface plate in thermal contact with the heat source or a surface integral with the heat source. The coolant sprayed onto the surface can initially be a liquid and remain a liquid after absorbing the heat, or can in part or in whole be converted to a gas or vapor after absorbing the heat.

  • Patent number: 6564565
Abstract: Disclosed is an air conditioning system and method employing at least two compressors so as to improve the refrigeration efficiency, in which expansion of a refrigerant in an expansion section is controlled according to a used state of the compressors depending on a refrigeration load, so that a general performance of the system can be improved. In the air conditioning system and method, measurement of the changes in the flowing quantity and the pressure of the refrigerant, which is necessary in order to control the opening state of the expansion section, can be executed by sensing and comparing the temperatures at the outlet port of the evaporation section and at the inlet port of the compression section, which show a temperature difference according to the flowing quantity and the pressure of the refrigerant. Therefore, the air conditioning system and method of the present invention achieves a simple construction, which can be easily assembled and enables the manufacturing cost to be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6564576
Abstract: A motor-driven compressor according to the present invention is formed with a housing that contains a compression portion and a motor for compressing refrigerant. The compressor housing further is provided with a suction housing for introducing the refrigerant. A capacitor is provided for smoothing a current that is supplied from a power source to the motor. The capacitor is in contact with the suction housing. In such motor-driven compressors, because the capacitor is in contact with the suction housing, heat transfer from the capacitor to the housing may effectively be facilitated. In further embodiments of the present invention, the capacitors may be disposed on various portions of the suction housing and in various orientations relative to an axial direction of the motor-driven compressor. These selected orientations reduce the dimensions of the motor-driven compressor.

  • Patent number: 6560986
Abstract: A vertically oriented refrigerant valve in a refrigeration cycle for substantially reducing vapor bubbles mass in a liquid refrigerant flow and providing a flow modulating and shutoff function. The valve includes an outer shell having a horizontal fluid inlet perpendicular to a vertical axis passing through an inner tubular member positioned inside the outer shell and having a vertical fluid outlet at a distal end, and a condensation chamber formed between the inside surface of the outer shell and the outer surface of the inner tubular member for collecting and condensing rising vapor bubbles from the inlet refrigerant. While the vapor bubbles portion of the refrigerant is collected in the chamber, the liquid passes through a plurality of passageways through the lower portion of the inner tubular member. A slide tube selectively closes and opens one or more of the passageways to control refrigerant flow through the passageways to precisely match the instantaneous needs of the refrigeration system.
