  • Patent number: 6106923
Abstract: Disclosed are venting hole structures suitable for AC grounding planes in multichip modules (MCMs) and the like. Such structures may be constructed from alternating layers of metal and dielectric materials, such as copper and polyimide, respectively. The venting structures according to the present invention are formed in the metal layers of grounding planes and enable gases trapped within the underlying dielectric layers to escape (so as to prevent delamination) without disturbing the function of the AC grounding plane to provide controlled impedance characteristics for signal lines disposed above and below the grounding plane.

  • Patent number: 6103347
Abstract: An objective of the present invention is to provide a magnetic display panel capable of writing on both face and rear surfaces. A magnetic display panel, comprising a face substrate, a rear substrate, cell walls for forming a cell, for binding the face substrate and the rear substrate and for enclosing a dispersion liquid including a magnetic particle, wherein the cell walls having U-shaped cross sections are formed by bending and standing partially one or both of the face substrate and the rear substrate to almost 90 degrees, wherein a clearance of the U-shaped cross sections in each cell wall has an open angle of 0 to 20 degrees, wherein a base portion clearance of the U-shaped cross section is 0.1 mm to 1.0 mm, and wherein a top portion clearance of the U-shaped cross section is 0 to 1.0 mm.

  • Patent number: 6099931
Abstract: In order to provide an insulation system for internal thermal insulation of a pressure chamber which can be subjected to pressure by a gas flow, the system being constructed for arrangement at an inner surface of an outer jacket of the pressure chamber and comprising at least one layer of insulating material, whereby good thermal insulation can be obtained with little maintenance work, it is proposed that the insulation system should comprise means for equalizing pressure between the insulating material and an internal chamber, which means are arranged over a large area relative to a surface of a layer of insulating material.

  • Patent number: 6096402
Abstract: An elongate composite member suitable for a vehicle ornamental member comprises an elongate shaped body having a common cross-section part with a longitudinally constant cross-sectional shape, and a varying cross-section part with a longitudinally varying cross-sectional shape. A resin part is formed by extrusion molding along the varying cross-section part to continuously extend in the longitudinal direction, thereby realizing an excellent overall appearance. Such elongate composite members can be readily and continuously manufactured basically with an extrusion molding process, wherein the elongate shaped body is continuously and longitudinally fed into an extrusion die assembly comprising a stationary die and the movable die, through which the common cross-section part and the varying cross-section part are respectively passed in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 6093467
Abstract: A gasket having two opposed faces and an edge disposed therebetween is given a wide coating on the edge. The coating is sufficiently wide so that it goes from corner to corner on the edge and protrudes past the corner on at least one side of the gasket in a direction perpendicular to a facial plane of the gasket. The coating protrudes in an amount effective to give the gasket a sealing ability which is better than the sealing ability of the same gasket if it had a coating merely extending from corner to corner without protruding.

  • Patent number: 6048601
Abstract: Disclosed is soft magnetic alloy powder for electromagnetic and magnetic shield, which can be easily flattened and exhibits good performance over a high frequency band, and a shielding member of good shield effect prepared by dispersing the powder in a matrix of rubber or plastics. Powder of a soft magnetic alloy, which consists essentially of, by weight %, Cr: 0.5.0-20%, Si: 0.01-0.5%, Al: 0.01-20% and the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities, is flattened in an attritor, and is added to the matrix material at a content of 30 wt. % or higher, preferably, as high as possible, and processed to form sheets or molded articles. The shielding member of particularly high flame resistance is prepared by adding soft magnetic alloy powder of alloy composition consisting essentially of, by weight %, Cr: 5-14%, Si: 0.01-0.5%, Al: 0.5-20%, and preferably, REM: up to 0.
