  • Patent number: 9797398
Abstract: An operational control device is disclosed for a positive-displacement pump having a motor, means for actuating the motor, state sensor means for detecting an actual operating parameter (e.g., pressure) of the pump, and operating mode means for controlling an operating mode of the pump. A first actuating mode of the operating mode means is set by the actuating means below a first operating-parameter threshold value (P1). This mode brings about a constantly rising pump pressure in the direction of an operating-parameter setpoint value (Pset) in a variable manner, which is dependent on a detected change in the operating parameter over a predefined time interval. A second actuating mode is set as normal operation to the operating-parameter setpoint value by the actuating means above the first operating-parameter threshold value. P1 is fixed or is calculated as a fraction of the operating-parameter setpoint value and/or a pump parameter correlated therewith.

  • Patent number: 9790937
Abstract: A compressor system and a method of reducing noise in the compressor system. The compressor system includes an inlet port configured to receive gas, an outlet port configured to output compressed gas, and a compressor pump connected to the inlet port via a pneumatic line and to the outlet port. The compressor pump is configured to pressurize gas input through the inlet port and to output a compressed gas through the outlet port. The compressor pump generates noise during operation of the compressor pump. The compressor system further comprises a side-branch resonator having a housing forming a cavity and an elongated member connected to the housing. The elongated member is pneumatically connected to the pneumatic line between the inlet port and the compressor pump. The side-branch resonator is configured to substantially reduce noise generated by the compressor pump, to monitor an operation of the compressor pump, or both.

  • Patent number: 9790944
Abstract: A motor-driven compressor includes an electric motor driven by a motor driver, which includes a switching element that converts DC voltage from a battery to AC voltage. A temperature detector detects the temperature of the switching element. A voltage detector detects DC voltage applied to the switching element from the battery. A control unit suspends the switching operation of the switching element when the detected temperature rises to a temperature threshold. The control unit reduces counter electromotive force generated by the electric motor. The controller changes the temperature threshold such that the temperature threshold gradually increases from when the detected DC voltage is the highest voltage in the applicable voltage range of the battery to when the detected DC voltage is the lowest voltage in the applicable voltage range.

  • Patent number: 9784254
Abstract: Pump assemblies for use with a subsurface fluid reservoir include an upper portion connected to a fluid conduit extending to the surface, a lower portion connected to the upper portion and in fluid communication with a fluid reservoir of the wellbore, and a plunger assembly movably located within the upper and lower portion of the pump assembly. As the fluid pressure within the tubing string, fluidly isolated from the fluid conduit, increases, fluid is forced into the pump assembly moving the plunger assembly upwell to draw fluid into the pump and forces fluid into the fluid conduit. As the fluid pressure within the tubing string decreases, movement of the plunger assembly forces fluid from the lower portion into the upper portion through a fluid passageway extending through the plunger assembly.
