  • Patent number: 10992361
Abstract: A split radio access network is provided that efficiently transmits beamforming coefficients from a distributed baseband unit device to a remote radio unit device to facilitate beamforming at the remote radio unit. The beamforming coefficients can be determined at the baseband unit device and transmitted along with the IQ data (data to be beamformed) to the remote radio unit device. Due to the large number of antenna ports however, there can still be a very large number of coefficients to transmit, and the disclosure provides for a compressed set of coefficients that reduces the overhead signaling requirements. Instead of sending coefficients for every kth antenna port, the system can select a subset of the coefficients corresponding to a set of k antenna ports which can be used by the remote radio unit to approximate the full set of beamforming coefficients.

  • Patent number: 10983043
Abstract: A method for categorizing a fracture surface of a component. A digital image of the fracture surface is generated. The digital image or one or more segments of the digital image is/are analyzed, wherein a category of a fracture pattern is assigned to one or more regions of the digital image or of one or more segments based on detection and statistical evaluation of spatial distribution of the smallest homogeneous image units (pixels) or image elements, and, provided that multiple regions and/or multiple segments of the digital image were analyzed, information about the regions and/or details of the digital image and categories of fracture patterns determined and assigned to them are linked to each other, and a category is assigned to the fracture surface based on this link. The method permits automatic, self-learning-categorization of fracture surfaces, for example for series tests carried out for joining technologies.

  • Patent number: 10957024
Abstract: A converter can process image data from input HDR images in real time to compute new metadata about the brightness, contrast, color gamut and/or color volume for the image data to be displayed from each frame. Existing metadata can be ignored. The converter can combine the metadata for a current HDR frame with metadata for a plurality of immediately previous sequential frames to provide parameters for tone mapping. The converter uses these parameters, and characteristics about a lower dynamic range display which will receive output image data, to define a transfer function for converting the input HDR image data into output image data for display. The converter analyzes and tone maps HDR frames at a rate sufficient to allow output video to be generated at a desired frame rate while receiving the image data from frames of the input HDR video at an input frame rate.

  • Patent number: 10943353
Abstract: Systems and methods generate a segmentation network for image segmentation using global optimization. A method for automatic generation of at least one segmentation network includes providing an initial set of hyperparameters to construct a segmentation network. The hyperparameters define operations for a set of block structures and connections between the block structures. The segmentation network is trained using a first set of images with ground truth. An objective function value for the trained segmentation network is generated using a second set of images having ground truth. Generating the objective function includes setting the objective function to a predetermined value responsive to identifying an untrainable condition of the trained initial segmentation network. The set of hyperparameters is updated by performing an optimization algorithm on the objective function value to construct an updated segmentation network.
