  • Patent number: 6110091
Abstract: There is provided a nurser liner having a pair of removable textured tabs for mounting the nurser liner to the rim of a nurser container. The tabs have a textured surface formed by piercing and embossing with forming tools. Each tab has a plurality of pierced holes that go through the tab to form an improved surface for gripping and handling. Each tab also has a plurality of embossed areas that supplement the pierced holes to improve gripping and handling while minimizing wear to the forming tools. In addition, the tabs may have a three segment pattern such that a smooth, non-textured center portion is located between textured portions on either side of the center portion. Accordingly, the combination of pierced and embossed areas provides the gripping advantages of pierced tabs while minimizing the amount of wear caused to the forming tools.

  • Patent number: 6079305
Abstract: A roll towel dispenser is operative to deliver and sever sheets of web from a roll of towel. The dispenser comprises a housing defining a compartment in which the roll of towel is maintained. A drive roller is supported by a frame attached to the housing. Cutting means interconnected with the drive roller operate to sever a sheet of web from the roll of material in predetermined lengths. First and second guide rollers, each supported by the frame, form respective nips with the drive roller. The drive roller is driven by the action of a user pulling on a tail of the roll, which passes through the nips and extends from the housing. A plurality of guide clips, each attached to the guide rollers at aligned annular grooves defined therein, encircle a peripheral segment of the drive roller. The guide clips function to bias the first and second guide rollers toward the drive roller and assist in threading the roll towel through the nips.

  • Patent number: 6047693
Abstract: A dust collector-equipped power cutter, which is easy to handle in operation and convenient for storage and transportation thereof and is capable of preventing dusty air from flowing back to the cutter portion when a cutting operation is interrupted, includes a main body, a cutter, a dust-sucking fan, and a dust hose assembly. The dust hose assembly includes a first dust hose section and a second dust hose section and a hose connector joining the first hose section and the second hose section. Each of the hose sections has a spiral rib on an outer peripheral surface, and the hose connector has a spiral groove on an inner wall of each end portion, the dust hose section and the hose connector being adapted to be interconnected with each other through a threaded engagement between the spiral rib and the spiral groove. The hose connector is provided with a check valve to prevent back flow when a cutting operation is interrupted or terminated.

  • Patent number: 6047624
Abstract: A guide assembly for receiving a guide bar of a band saw, includes a sleeve-shaped member having first and second ends. A first insert member is positioned within the sleeve-shaped member. An outer peripheral surface portion of the insert member forms a first guide bar receiving channel with an inner peripheral surface portion of the sleeve-shaped member. A second insert member may also be provided to form a second guide bar receiving channel which aligns with the first guide bar receiving channel. Said insert members may also include at least one exposed end having a peripheral lip which overlaps the respective end of the sleeve-shaped member.

  • Patent number: 6044741
Abstract: A unitary tray and blade guide frame including longitudinal members extending from rigid, integral attachment with a back tray. An end frame member transversely, rigidly mounts to the longitudinal frame members and the back tray. A blade guide mounts to the back tray, with its upper surface flush with the upper surface of the back tray. A thickness tray slidably mounts in slots formed in the longitudinal frame members. An adjustment mechanism adjusts the position of the thickness tray. A food product workpiece extends downwardly from a reciprocatably displaceable workpiece retaining carriage, and rests on the upper surface of the thickness tray. The carriage advances the workpiece into a blade, which removes a slice from the workpiece. The lower surface of the remaining workpiece slides against the upper surface of the blade guide and the back tray.

  • Patent number: 6044740
Abstract: A push stick for use with stationary power tools including table saws and shapers. The push stick has a flat base plate that can ride on the surface of the power tool thereby providing stable operation with a resulting increase in safety for the operator and more accurate cutting. A handle of the push stick is placed at an optimum angle to provide both downward and forward pressure on a work piece. The push stick may also be equipped with a variable handle angle to optimize its use with different power tools. The base plate of the push stick may be adjustable in thickness to accommodate work pieces of different thicknesses.

  • Patent number: 6035755
Abstract: A slider includes a rotary blade holding case and a guide member. A rotary blade bearing portion is provided on the rotary blade holding case. A shaft extends through a rotary blade while being clamped with a bearing member and a safety plate. After the shaft is coupled with the bearing portion, the guide member is coupled with the rotary blade holding case. Thereby, parts other than the shaft are adapted to be molded with a single material so as to reduce the manufacturing processes of the slider and the cost thereof. In addition, the rotary blade and the safety plate are mounted on the slider. If the slider is removed from the guide rail in the state where the rotary blade is in a unit with the slider, fingers are prevented from contacting the rotary blade, and the rotary blade can be easily replaced together with the slider.

  • Patent number: 6026726
Abstract: A kit to sort out pills, tablets or capsules, which comprises a recessed support, a container-defining sheet designed to fit into the support, and a sealing sheet made of self-adhesive paper as having substantially the same dimension as the container-defining sheet, so as to close the same. Positioning elements are provided on the sealing sheet and on the support and/or the container-defining sheet in order to facilitate proper fixation of the sealing sheet on top of the container-defining sheet. A pill-sorting device made of two sliding panels with hollow bottomed recesses can be used to insert the pills into the containers of the container-defining sheet.

  • Patent number: 6023847
Abstract: An apparatus for cutting vegetation that includes a fixed gearhead from which a rotating driveshaft extends. A spool, including a spool housing and a spool element, are located below the gearhead and are coupled to the drive shaft to rotate in unison with the drive shaft. A cylindrically shaped deflecting ring extends between the top of the spool housing and the adjacent rotating protective disk. The deflecting ring prevents cut vegetation from winding around the portion of the driveshaft that extends between the gearhead and the spool.
