Abstract: An integrated circuit (IC) die and integrated circuit (IC) chip packages having such dies are described that leverage the symmetry of the arrangement of micro-bumps to advantageously reduce interposer cost and size requirements. In one example, an integrated circuit (IC) die is provided. The IC die includes a die body, a plurality of programmable tiles disposed in the die body, and a plurality of micro-bumps disposed in the die body. The die body includes a front face connecting a bottom exterior surface and a top exterior surface. A centerline of the die body is perpendicular to the front face and bifurcates the top exterior surface. At least two of the programmable tiles are of a common type. The micro-bumps adjacent the front face and coupled to the common type of programmable tiles have a substantially symmetrical orientation relative to a symmetry axis. The symmetry axis being one of (a) collinear with the centerline of the die body, or (b) parallel to the centerline of the die body.

Abstract: Computational systems implement problem solving using heuristic solvers or optimizers. Such may iteratively evaluate a result of processing, and modify the problem or representation thereof before repeating processing on the modified problem, until a termination condition is reached. Heuristic solvers or optimizers may execute on one or more digital processors and/or one or more quantum processors. The system may autonomously select between types of hardware devices and/or types of heuristic optimization algorithms. Such may coordinate or at least partially overlap post-processing operations with processing operations, for instance performing post-processing on an ith batch of samples while generating an (i+1)th batch of samples, e.g., so post-processing operation on the ith batch of samples does not extend in time beyond the generation of the (i+1)th batch of samples. Heuristic optimizers selection is based on pre-processing assessment of the problem, e.g.

  • Patent number: 9859226
Abstract: Devices and methods for resisting or preventing physical tampering of electronic components are described. A tamper resistant apparatus comprises a tampering sensor having a surface at which a first and second conductive portion are disposed. A core-shell particle (or a plurality of particles) is disposed on the surface of the tampering sensor. The core-shell particle has a liquid metallic core and a shell surrounding the core. When tampering occurs, forces associated with the tampering cause the core-shell particle to rupture. The released liquid metallic core material can form a conductive pathway between the first and second conductive portions of the tampering sensor. The tampering sensor triggers a security response when the first and second conductive portions are electrically connected to each other by the metallic material from the ruptured core-shell particle(s).

  • Patent number: 9844114
Abstract: Techniques are described to allow a low-cost light fixture to produce light with a relatively high color rendering index (CRI) across a range of color temperatures. A rectified AC voltage may be provided to multiple groups of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) having characteristics related to a range of color temperatures and a target CRI level. The multiple groups of LEDs may be controlled based on a received control signal, such that the combined groups of LEDs produce combined light having a produced color temperature within the range of color temperatures, and having a produced CRI level that is approximately the target CRI level. In some implementations, the received control signal is modified by a modification circuit, and the multiple groups of LEDs may be controlled based on the modified control signal.

  • Patent number: 9826618
Abstract: An AC power supply drives and controls an array of non-thermal plasma emitters at desired frequencies at a controlled power level. The power supply comprises a step-up transformer, a balanced driver, and a controller. The transformer operates at the resonant frequency of the combined capacitance of the array and the cable connecting the array to the power supply. The power into the array is monitored by the controller and can be adjusted by the user. The balanced driver may be driven directly by the controller. The controller monitors the phase relationship between the transformer primary winding voltage and the gate drive voltage, and adjusts the drive frequency to resonance. Alternatively the balanced driver is configured as an oscillator which drives the transformer at resonance by default. A signal from the transformer driver generates an interrupt to the controller for synchronizing current and voltage measurements for power control.
