Abstract: A system for locating a mobile device is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a mobile device having a processor and a receiver, and at least three transceiver devices forming a network of transceiver devices. The mobile device and transceivers can transmit a request (REQ) packet by the mobile device; receive the REQ packet by the at least three transceiver devices; transmit, by a first one of the at least three transceiver devices receiving the REQ packet, a response (RSP) packet; and receive by at least some of the at least three transceiver devices the REQ and the RSP packet. The at least three transceiver devices that receive both the REQ and the RSP packet, the system determines a difference in arrival time between receiving the REQ packet and the RSP packet. The system can determine the location of the mobile device based on determined differences in arrival time.

  • Patent number: 10171935
Abstract: Method, systems, and computer-readable media for receiving, from an application instance operating on a client device, healthcare information that indicates a client device identifier, a wireless proximity beacon identifier, and a proximity of the identified client device to the identified wireless proximity beacon. From the received healthcare information, a determination is made whether the proximity of the identified client device to the identified wireless proximity beacon satisfies a threshold proximity. Based at least on the determination, an action is determined that the application instance operating on the identified client device is permitted to perform while the proximity of the identified client device to the identified wireless proximity beacon satisfies the threshold proximity. Healthcare information is transmitted to the identified client device that enables the application instance operating on the identified client device to perform the action.

  • Patent number: 10129706
Abstract: Context sensitive communication augmentation is disclosed. A user equipment (UE) can receive a trigger related to determining a context of a UE. The trigger can be manual, automatic, or remote. In response to receiving the trigger, the context of the UE can be determined based on sensor data. The sensor data can be received from a sensor of the UE or another sensor. Based on the context of the UE, a metric related to a communication modality of the UE can be determined. The metric can be communicated to another device. Information related to the context of the UE, including location information, can be communicated to the other device. A communication modality can be selected based on the metric relate to the UE and communication modalities of the other device. • Patent number: 9883368
Abstract: The invention comprises a method and apparatus used to establish a communication link via selection of a graphic of a person or group overlaid on a map, such as via use of a communication aircraft or satellite without timely knowledge by a caller, without lookup, of the called person's or group's identity and/or phone number. Communication is aided by personal communicators worn and/or carried by the caller and person or group called. The established communication is optionally and preferably supplemented with a local representation of the environment, such as terrain, natural resources, available man-made resources, identification of teams, weather, visibility, and/or competing elements. The communication link is optionally integrated into a firefighting command and control system, a friend network, a company group, and/or for a team so time is not spent looking up a phone number.

  • Patent number: 9844023
Abstract: A user's set top box detects the ringing of a telephone, mobile device or other type of audible notification of an incoming contact and, in response, sends a command causing a current audio level of the television programming or other media currently being played to decrease such that the audible notification can be heard by the user. A device silencing manager on the set top box may detect the audible notification occurring by the sound waves of the audible notification from the mobile device picked up by a microphone of the receiving device. Additionally or alternatively, a device silencing manager on the set top box may wirelessly receive, either directly or indirectly from the mobile device, an electronic notification of the audible notification.

  • Patent number: 9749904
Abstract: An interworking solution only requires that Greenfield LTE deploy the IWF and IMS AS, and set up the connections between their MME and IWF for the IMSI attach procedure. The solution uses an IMS client that can be installed on the roamer's devices. Thus once the roamer is attached to the LTE network together with IMSI attach via IWF function, and registered into the IMS system, the roamer can receive voice call and SMS by the original phone number, even though the LTE operator network does not support CSFB.
