A conveying device temporarily stops the document fed by the separating and feeding device at a position preceding a reading position and again conveys, on the elapse of a preselected period of time, the document toward the reading position. Abstract: Method and apparatus used in the field of waste management, especially a method and a device for treating recoverable waste products that have already partially decomposed. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device which makes it possible to further decompose, if possible completely, and recover the residual products that remain once the waste products are degassed. According to the inventive method, air and waste gases are introduced separately from the bottom into the chamber and pressure is applied. The air is introduced into the chamber in a substantially axial orientation and waste gases in a substantially tangential or radial orientation. The invention further provides a device the funnel-shaped bottom of which is provided with openings for air and waste gases to enter. The air is introduced into the reactor chamber from the bottom in a substantially axial orientation and the waste gases in a substantially tangential or radial orientation.

Abstract: A sheet-guiding device in a sheet-processing machine, in particular a sheet-fed rotary printing press, includes gripper devices disposed on revolving components of the sheet-processing machine for guiding the sheets to be printed on an air cushion formed by blast air. A multiplicity of free jet nozzles, disposed radially outside a path of movement of the gripper devices, form the air cushion. The free jet nozzles serve for producing free air jets tangentially delimiting an optimized path of movement of the sheets. The optimized path of movement extends in the vicinity of the path of movement of the gripper devices.

Abstract: To change a bill storage box for deposit/withdrawal in a bill handling machine to a bill storage box for withdrawal only, a recycling box has conventionally been exchanged with a withdrawal-only box. That is, an extra withdrawal-only box exchanged with a recycling box must be prepared. The present invention provides a bill handling machine processing bills under various condition without preparing an extra bill storage box. The bill handling machine comprises a deposit/withdrawal port, via which bills are deposited or withdrawn, and a plurality of recycling boxes each of which stores bills of each denomination and dispenses deposited and stored bills. An operation of a recycling box, deposit-only box, and withdrawal-only box are set up for each recycling box and operation information on the recycling box is stored in the recycling box for use in checking consistency with the machine to prevent a malfunction in the recycling box.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and methods for separating an article of laundry from a bundle of articles. The bundle is located in a truck which is clamped into a carriage by means of clamping arm or attached to guide rails. The truck is moved by suitable drive means in a controlled manner beneath a grip device which is movable into and out of the truck. The grip device is mounted on a carriage which is movable upwards relative to a frame by means of a winch and downwards by gravity. The grip device picks the article from the bundle using a dual clamp structure and lifts the article up past an adjacent conveyor which is mounted so as to oscillate about a roller. An air jet means is also provided to blow the article into a nip defined between the conveyor belt and a spring loaded nip roller. Sensors are provided for sensing overload conditions for the conveyor and the grip device.
