Abstract: To adjust axial and radial movement of a thrust plug associated with end play of a rotating shaft, the thrust plug receives the shaft on one side and has a shoulder surface extending from the other side of the thrust plug. A housing position supports a retainer cap which receives the thrust plug so the thrust plug can have some axial movement. The thrust plug shoulder is higher than the thickness of the retainer cap, so that predetermined amount of axial play (c) can be accurately and exactly established. Radial movement of the thrust plug within a housing cavity is achieved by having a thrust plug diameter which is smaller than the inner diameter of the housing cavity, and having an O-ring about the thrust plug which engages the housing cavity and provides a pivot point.
Abstract: The present invention concerns a miniature stepping motor 10 for a watch movement comprising a rotor 12 and a stator 11 pierced with a circular opening in which the rotor is located. A reinforcing band 18 surrounds the rotor concentrically and is pressed into the circular opening of the stator. This band 18 consists of a hollow cylindrical part 19 and an annular part 20 which closes at least partially the tubular piece constituting the band 18. A central opening in the annular part 20 provides a housing for the bearing 16 of the rotor axle. This band ensures a double function: that of making the stator rigid and that of centering the rotor.
Abstract: An improved water powered electric generating device which comprises a buoyant platform and a plurality of pylons fixedly mounted in the ocean or riverbed and which slidingly engages the buoyant platform, and a tower means fixedly mounted to the buoyant platform and upwardly extending therefrom. Axle means are rotatable about an axis and pivotedly adapted to the tower means and include means to rotate the axle means in an arc of substantially 120.degree., connected on one end to the tower means and on the other end to the axle means. The axle means and a plurality of radially and outwardly directed paddle arms are fixedly mounted to the first gear means and formed at the outward end thereof into a paddle to engage the moving water and rotate the first gear means. Pinion gear means toothedly engage the first gear means and are rotated thereby, and generator means are adapted to the pinion gear means and activated thereby to produce electricity.
Abstract: A modular assembly of reciprocating electric generators with respective movable floats and a common submerged damper plate and buoyancy chamber produces electricity from wave motion on a body of water.
