  • Patent number: 11138914
Abstract: A display device is disclosed. In one aspect, the display device includes a substrate, a plurality of pixels formed over the substrate and a plurality of signal lines formed over the substrate and connected to the pixels. The signal lines include a plurality of data lines formed over the substrate and a first crack sensing line connected to a first data line. The first crack sensing line is divided into first and second sections and the first section has a width that is greater than that of the second section.

  • Patent number: 11132964
Abstract: A display device includes a liquid crystal panel and a light source that emits light onto the liquid crystal panel, the display device including: a video signal obtainer that obtains a video signal; a visible light signal obtainer that obtains a visible light signal; a panel controller that drives the liquid crystal panel at a predetermined frequency according to the video signal obtained; and a light source controller that repeats, in a predetermined cycle, a first control for causing a luminance change in the light source according to the visible light signal. The light source controller synchronizes a control for repeating the first control with a cycle for driving the liquid crystal panel by the panel controller.

  • Patent number: 11125611
Abstract: A method for light sensing senses the light during a sub-frame of a picture frame operated display. The sensing is performed during an adaptive observation window which is determined in dependence on the duty cycle of the operation of the display. A calculation that uses the light sensed during the observation window and the light sensed during the sub-frame delivers a value indicative of the amount of received ambient light.

  • Patent number: 11114052
Abstract: The utility model relates to a voltage conditioning circuit, and particularly relates to an AD voltage conditioning circuit. The conditioning circuit comprises a voltage-dividing circuit and a voltage translation circuit. The voltage-dividing circuit and the voltage translation circuit share an output end. The voltage-dividing circuit and the voltage translation circuit are integrated together and share the output end so that the voltage-dividing circuit and the voltage translation circuit can be isolated without using an isolation circuit, AD voltage can be conditioned to an appropriate value, three arithmetic units required to be used by an original conditioning circuit is reduced to only two arithmetic units, and four resistors required to be used by the voltage-dividing circuit and the translation circuit of the original conditioning circuit are reduced to only three resistors.

  • Patent number: 11069309
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing the power consumption of high-dynamic range (HDR) displays via buck-boost conversion are described. In some embodiments, an information handling system (IHS) may include an embedded controller (EC) and a memory coupled to the EC, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the EC to: determine a characteristic of a display having a backlight, and control a buck-boost converter to increase or decrease a voltage applied to the backlight based upon a frame rate of a video signal received by the display.
