Abstract: Disclosed are web-based systems and methods for editing digital videos. A graphical editing interface allows designating one or more videos to assemble into a video compilation. The graphical editing interface further allows specifying the portion of a constituent video of the video compilation that will be displayed when the video compilation is played. The graphical editing interface additionally allows the association of annotations—specifying, for example, slides, people, and highlights—with portions of the video. The associated annotations alter the appearance of the video compilation when it is played, such as by displaying slides, or text associated with the annotations, along with the video at times associated with the annotations. The associated annotations also enhance the interactivity of the video compilation, such as by allowing playback to begin at points of interest, such as portions of the video for which there is an associated annotation.

Abstract: An information processing system includes a memory portion that stores each scene of image information of a given space captured by an image capturing portion in association with positional information on an object existent in the given space, a receiving portion that receives information that specifies the object as a search request, and a search portion that searches the image information stored in the memory portion for a scene where the object is existent in a given position on the basis of the search request.

Abstract: A method of forming a multi-user online collaboration includes automatically receiving and processing a plurality of communications, including comparing the plurality of communications with collaboration launch criteria. When a received communication meets the collaboration launch criteria, a participant in the communication is invited to generate a multi-user online collaboration. In some embodiments, the method includes identifying a group of communications, comparing the group of communications with the collaboration launch criteria to produce a comparison result, and generating a collaborative metric in accordance with the comparison result.

Abstract: The disclosure describes a method of dynamically creating real-time presentations responsive to search expressions. The method comprises retrieving information from search engines, parsing the retrieved information to create dynamically a structured document including mark-up tags, and rendering the structured document as a slide show presentation of images by a multimedia presentation module. The structured document may be editable, annotatable, storable, and publishable by a user viewing the slide show presentation on the client device. The information retrieved from the one or more search engines may be restricted to one or more specified web domains. Pertinent textual information about the object of interest may also be retrieved along with the image information for convenient review by the user. Each displayed image in the slideshow presentation may have an embedded hyperlink to the source page of the image.

Abstract: A client device having at least one user configurable setting is detected by a user interface device. The user interface device and the client device are in electronic communication with each other. Setting signals identifying user configurable settings of the client device are received at the user interface device. A user interface, based on the setting signals, is formulated at the user interface device. Configuration of the user interface is controlled by the user interface device rather than the client device. User input may be received at the user interface device in view of the user interface. In response to receipt of this input, a control signal is transmitted to the client device to alter at least one user configurable setting of the client device. The user interface device may thus be utilized to view and alter configuration settings for one or more client devices.

Abstract: The present invention is and includes a device, system and method for providing an image enhancement widget. The device, system and method include a javascript component that, upon execution, obtains at least one subject of primary content on a networked page, and at least one permission for enhancement of the primary content, ones of a plurality of content produced remotely from the javascript component and according to the javascript component, and an enhancement widget. The enhancement widget may be a flash widget.

Abstract: Treatments and compounds can be useful in subterranean formations where particulates and/or surfaces may be subject to silica scale build-up. Certain embodiments pertain to utilizing silica scale control additives with particulate packs. Of these, certain methods may treat particulate packs in a subterranean formation with silica scale control additives, certain methods may combine silica scale control additives with particulates prior to formation of a particulate pack, and certain compounds may provide the features of both silica scale control additives and particulates.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to generating a translatable and annotated multimedia or video presentation of a software program operation. An aspect of the disclosure comprises recording user interaction data that includes user interface gestures and text entries from a keyboard and other user devices while the program is operating. Embodiments of the disclosure transform recorded text and visual contents of the program to a selected format or language, annotate contents of interest, and merge recorded user interface gestures, transformed text and visual contents, and transformed annotations into the output presentation. The embodiments of the disclosure optionally generate an accessibility script in a selected format.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing system, method, and program which are capable of presenting a more persuasive recommendation reason. When a music CD meeting a user's preference is selected by a server apparatus, a recommendation screen is displayed onto the display of the user apparatus. The detailed information 11 including the titles of the pieces of music included in the recommended music CD and a recommendation reason 12 are displayed on the recommendation screen. A comment on the music CD (recommended music CD), which is written by a certain music commentator, is used for the display of the recommendation reason 12. Out of the comment, the words that has served for the recommendation or the sentences including that word are underlined, etc., and thus is displayed more noticeably than the other words and sentences. The present invention can be applied to an apparatus which selects and presents an item meeting the user's preference.

Abstract: For enabling a time-shifted presentation of at least one received media stream, at least one media fragment is created. The at least one media fragment includes media data from a section of the at least one received media stream and associated media data. The media data is stored to a media data section of a file and the associated meta data is stored to a meta data section of this file. In case of a user request to start a time-shifted presentation, the file may then be parsed for retrieving media data of a respective media fragment for presentation.

Abstract: A system and methodology for data processing combining stream processing and spreadsheet computation comprises: one or more Cloudscale Stream Processors (CSPs), a Cloudscale-enabled spreadsheet (including a plug-in module), a web services architecture, and one or more data sources. Each CSP takes a set of streams of input data and outputs a set of streams of data. Each stream is a time-ordered stream of files which when concatenated together comprise the stream. The Cloudscale-enabled spreadsheet is includes a plug in module that operates in conjunction with a spreadsheet program and one or more stream processors. The Cloudscale-enabled spreadsheet provides tools and technologies for user authentication, stream discovery, data source extraction and new stream design. It includes features for design of new stream processors, as well as features for checking and validation, cycle and synchronization controls for stream processors and spreadsheets.

Abstract: Determination of content style attributes of an image having content thereon is disclosed. The content may be a paragraph of text with a column layout designation. The content style attribute determination may include determining one or more of paragraph alignment, vertical and horizontal margin values, indentation, line spacing, and tracking values. The content style attributes may be determined for each paragraph separately or by grouping paragraphs by the column layout designation. The content style attributes may be used to format content in images for presentation on end user devices.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a browser-independent cascading style sheet (CSS) that conforms to a CSS standard, and automatically modifying the browser-independent CSS to incorporate different CSS related features of various browsers. The method further includes creating one or more CSS files customized for the various browsers.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide techniques for calibrating and annotating video content. In one or more embodiments, an instance of video content can be calibrated with one or more geographical models and/or existing calibrated video content to correlate the instance of video content with one or more geographical locations. According to some embodiments, geographical information can be used to annotate the video content. Geographical information can include identification information for one or more structures, natural features, and/or locations included in the video content. Some embodiments enable a particular instance of video content to be correlated with other instances of video content based on common geographical information and/or common annotation information. Thus, a user can access video content from other users with similar travel experiences and/or interests. A user may also access annotations provided by other users that may be relevant to a particular instance of video content.

Abstract: In setting, by using a format, a non-display region in image data obtained by an image reading unit, a format location information input unit writes in the image data, an image representing information on access to a format storage unit in an external apparatus where a format to be used has been stored. In displaying the image data, a format location information extraction unit extracts the format location information by extracting the image from the image data. A format obtaining unit obtains the format by accessing the format storage unit based on the information. An image modification unit uses the obtained format to modify the image data such that the designated region is displayed in an invisible manner.

Abstract: A system is disclosed which allows for tracing an electronic document within an electronic publication. A message identifier is associated with the electronic document. The message identifier is transformed into a binary format. Drawing instructions are provided in the electronic page description of the electronic document to encode each bit of the binary format as a unique geometrical shape. The plurality of geometrical shapes for all the bits define a mark. The drawing instructions are provided such that the geometrical shapes are invisible and/or overlaid/overlapped. The modified electronic document is then added to the electronic publication. To trace the electronic document, the electronic page description of the electronic publication is sent to an interpreter to extract the geometrical shapes and/or their positions and decode the message identifier.
