  • Patent number: 7335005
Abstract: A gear pump, in particular for pumping material such as rubber mixes, includes an enclosure in which a central gear wheel and two peripheral gear wheels rotate. Teeth of the central gear wheel mesh with teeth of both peripheral gear wheels to pump material from an inlet to an outlet. The pump includes at least one feed chamber in which a feed mechanism delivers material to the inlet. The gear wheels are separately driven by a driving torque. A prestressing device applies a torsional prestress which presses the meshing teeth together for creating a seal between those meshing teeth to prevent leakage of material past the teeth.

  • Patent number: 7329107
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an oil supply structure for a slider of an orbiting vane compressor capable of providing effective lubrication to reciprocating surfaces of the slider reciprocating in an annular space of a compressor cylinder. The oil supply structure comprises an oil supply slot formed at an upper surface of an inner ring provided in the cylinder to supply oil to outer surfaces of the slider, and oil grooves formed at the outer surfaces of the slider to guide the oil, supplied through the oil supply slot, along the outer surfaces of the slider. The oil supply structure achieves effective lubrication of the reciprocating surfaces of the slider to thereby reduce friction between the slider and the cylinder, resulting in improved compressor performance.

  • Patent number: 7322191
Abstract: A device for imparting a whirling motion on the flow of air for supplying a turbo-supercharged internal-combustion engine is designed to be interposed in the duct for supplying the air upstream of the supercharger for supercharging the engine. The device comprises an elbow-shaped portion of duct and partializing means, which are able to limit the section of passage in the upstream branch of the aforesaid elbow portion to an area which constitutes a fraction of the total section of the duct and which is adjacent to a wall of the duct. In this way, the downstream branch of the elbow portion is reached by a tangential flow that gives rise to a helical flow of the air in said downstream branch. The device enables creation upstream of the supercharger of a negative pressure sufficient for enabling a recirculation of exhaust gases, upstream of the supercharger, and at the same time imparts on the air flow a whirling movement that enables the supercharger to be exploited in the most efficient way.

  • Patent number: 7309220
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a back pressure apparatus for orbiting vane compressors that is capable of reducing excessive axial force applied to an orbiting vane due to high-pressure refrigerant gas introduced to the lower surface of a vane plate of the orbiting vane. The back pressure apparatus comprises a back pressure chamber formed at the upper surface of a main frame, which is brought into tight contact with the lower surface of a vane plate of an orbiting vane, and a low-pressure gas communication part for allowing the back pressure chamber and an inlet port to communicate with each other therethrough. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of preventing excessive friction between the orbiting vane and the inner surface of a cylinder, preventing damage to the orbiting vane compressor due to the friction, and preventing deterioration of performance of the orbiting vane compressor due to the frictional loss.

  • Patent number: 7305937
Abstract: A rotary machine includes a housing divided into a first stationary portion and a second rotational portion. The second rotational portion is supported for rotation with respect to the stationary portion about an axis of the housing. • Patent number: 7305827
Abstract: A turbocharger includes a compressor wheel having back-to-back impellers (i.e., a forward-facing impeller and a rearward-facing impeller) mounted on the same shaft. The two impellers are independently supplied with inlet air via separate inlet ducts and discharge pressurized air to a common volute. The inlet duct for the rearward-facing impeller comprises a generally axially extending tubular conduit having an upstream end and a downstream end, the tubular conduit being bifurcated at the downstream end into a pair of separate duct branches that divide an air stream flowing through the tubular conduit into a pair of separate air streams. The duct branches direct the air streams radially inwardly and then re-join the streams and turn the air to an axial direction into the second impeller.

  • Patent number: 7300267
Abstract: A roller cell pump having a shaped sliding surface composed of elliptical portions results from two different equations. The function of the unit is improved because the equations are modified and include adaptable parameters, so that by adaptation of the parameters, the shaped sliding surface can be adapted in portions optimally to the requisite function in that particular region of the shaped sliding surface, for instance the function of generating an underpressure or an overpressure. The course of the radii of the elliptical portions corresponds, at least in portions, to one of two equations that differ from the prior art.

  • Patent number: 7287969
Abstract: A rotary fluid pressure device defining a fluid inlet (17), an output shaft (37), and a housing (41,43) defining a brake chamber (61), a piston member (63,65) being disposed therein and biased toward an engaged position by a spring (69). Braking means (57,59) is associated with the piston and the output shaft, such that movement of the piston to the engaged position results in braking of said output shaft. The housing defines a fluid pressure port (73) in communication with the fluid inlet, and the piston defines a large pressure release chamber (71) in fluid communication with said fluid pressure port. The piston defines a small pressure release chamber (89) also in fluid communication with the fluid pressure port. A valve means (75,81) is operable, when fluid pressure in the large release chamber reaches a predetermined pressure, to communicate the large to a source of low pressure fluid.

  • Patent number: 7255542
Abstract: A unique positioning of a discharge tube relative to a pivot axis of a check valve in a compressor reduces the wear and fatigue stresses on the pivoting check valve components. The tube is centered on an axis that is non-perpendicular to an axis that is parallel to the pivot axis of the check valve, and in one embodiment was at 45°. With the inventive positioning of the discharge tube relative to the pivot axis, the flow streamlines heading from the discharge port to the discharge tube are no loner normal to the flapper valve surface, and the amount of wear between moving valve components and fatigue stresses are reduced.
