Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to contextual input in a three-dimensional (3D) environment. In an example, a 3D environment is authored using an authoring application, wherein the author selects and positions one or more content items within the 3D environment. The 3D environment has a set of possible environment events that are associated with user input events. As a result, an environment event is generated when a user input event is received from an input device. An author uses the authoring application to associate an environment event with an action of the content item. A user is able to use a variety of input devices to interact with the 3D environment. When an input event is received from an input device, an environment event is generated accordingly, and a content item action associated with the environment event is performed in response to the environment event.

  • Patent number: 11106276
Abstract: A virtual reality (VR) headset adjusts the phase of light of a virtual scene received from a display element using a spatial light modulator (SLM) to accommodate changes in vergence for a user viewing objects in the virtual scene. The VR headset receives virtual scene data that includes depth information for components of the virtual scene and the SLM adjusts a wavefront of the light of the virtual scene by generating a phase function that adjusts the light of the virtual scene with phase delays based the depth values. Individual phase delays shift components of the virtual scene based on the depth values to a target focal plane to accommodate a user at a vergence depth for a frame of the virtual scene. Further, the SLM can provide optical defocus by shifting components of the virtual scene with the phase delays for depth of field blur.

  • Patent number: 11087687
Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a driver IC, and a control circuit. The control circuit includes operation circuitry to calculate the magnitude of a driving current flowing in a first pixel column in response to first voltage information from the driver IC, where the first voltage information corresponding to a voltage level of a first power supply line applied to a first pixel group of the display panel. The operation circuitry also calculates a compensation gain by comparing the magnitude of the driving current with preset current information. Further, the control circuit includes a compensator to receive a first data signal, generate a second data signal by applying the compensation gain to the first data signal, and transfer the second data signal to the driver IC. • Patent number: 11074890
Abstract: To provide a display device that achieves both smooth input and a high detection sensitivity on a touch sensor unit. The display device includes a display unit and the touch sensor unit. The display device has three operation modes: normal display in which the entire display region is rewritten, partial IDS driving in which part of the display region is rewritten, and IDS driving in which the entire display region is not rewritten. The detection operation by the touch sensor unit is performed at a time different from the time of performing the rewriting operation of the display region, so that a high detection sensitivity is achieved. Furthermore, a period of performing the detection operation in each of the partial IDS driving and the IDS driving is set longer than a period of performing the detection operation in the normal display, which enables smooth input.

Abstract: An image synthesizer apparatus for vehicle includes an image generator and an error detector. From multiple cameras arranged to a vehicle so that an imaging region of each camera partially overlaps with an imaging region of an adjacent camera, the image generator acquires images of areas allocated to the respective cameras, and synthesizes the acquired images to generate a synthetic image around the vehicle viewed from a viewpoint above the vehicle. The error detector detects errors in the cameras. When the error detector detects a faulty camera in the cameras, the image generator acquires, from the image captured by the camera adjacent to the faulty camera, an overlap portion overlapping with the image captured by the faulty camera, uses the overlap portion to generate the synthetic image, and applies image reinforcement to the overlap portion.
