  • Patent number: 11795770
Abstract: A tool trap system includes a housing defining a bore, a shaft coupled to the housing, and a flapper and an actuation system coupled to the shaft. The flapper selectively obstructs the bore through the housing. The actuation system includes a lever coupled to and configured to rotate the shaft, a cylinder configured to contact the lever, a hydraulic cylinder, and a piston rod extending through the cylinder and the hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder is configured to move axially along a longitudinal axis of the cylinder to rotate the lever. In response to manual actuation of the tool trap system, the hydraulic cylinder remains in place as the cylinder moves axially. In response to powered actuation of the tool trap system, a fluid pumped into the hydraulic cylinder axially moves the hydraulic cylinder, and the piston rod remains in place as the cylinder moves axially.

  • Patent number: 11788381
Abstract: The present invention refers to a mandrel assembly for chemical injection in use in an oil well production string where the water depth can reach 3,000 m, exerting extreme hydrostatic pressures on the mandrel. The mandrel assembly is capable of dosing the chemical fluid flow rate to avoid some types of unwanted situations in the production string, mainly related to fouling. It has the characteristic of not using injection valves having small diameters, causing the annular space between the mandrel body and the inner part to ensure greater space for the flow of chemical fluid, thus reducing the likelihood of a possible plugging. Such characteristics ensure lower maintenance interventions, thus generating lower costs and increasing well reliability.

  • Patent number: 11773679
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are provided for injecting carrier sleeves into a wellbore. The injection system is capable of individually indexing a selected sleeve from a sleeve magazine into an injector bore and axially aligning the sleeve with the bore with a retaining device. The retaining device prevents a subsequent sleeve from being indexed into the bore from the magazine. The selected sleeve can be restricted from free fall using a staging mechanism, which can subsequently be opened to permit the selected sleeve to fall into a staging bore. The staging bore is then fluidly isolated from the injector bore and the wellbore, pressure in the staging bore is equalized with the wellbore, and then opened to the wellbore for injecting the sleeve into the wellbore. The sleeve can be axially aligned and radially centered with the injector bore using a tapered portion in the bore or the staging mechanism.

  • Patent number: 11767722
Abstract: A chemical tank level system for a wellbore chemical injection tank is provided. The system includes a pressure sensor is located downstream of the chemical injection tank where the fluidic pressure is essentially the same as the fluidic pressure at the base of the chemical tank. The pressure sensor sends a signal indicative of the fluidic pressure to a tank level sensor module. The tank level sensor module receives the signal from the pressure sensor. A processor takes a series of pressure sensor signals over a sample window and calculates an average of the signals over a defined time window.

  • Patent number: 11761286
Abstract: A hydrocarbon extraction system that includes an erosion control system. The erosion control system includes a housing defining a first inlet, a second inlet, and an outlet. The housing receives and directs a flow of a particulate laden fluid between the first inlet and the outlet. A conduit rests within the housing. The conduit changes a direction of the particulate laden fluid and reduces erosion of the housing. The conduit is inserted into the housing through the second inlet. The conduit defines a plurality of apertures between an exterior surface and an interior surface of the conduit. The apertures direct the fluid into a conduit cavity. The conduit guides the fluid entering the conduit cavity to the outlet. The erosion control system excludes a plug and/or a sleeve around or in the conduit.

  • Patent number: 11739596
Abstract: A joint assembly allows a riser system to have a weak point that can fail at a known location and tension value without reducing the riser pressure containment capacity. The joint assembly includes a standard riser pipe machined to remove material, for example, to form a groove. The joint assembly also comprises means for restoring pressure capacity. For example, the means for restoring pressure capacity include a combination of a thick-bodied clamp and a split insert ring. The split insert ring can bridge between the groove and the clamp, at least partially transferring the pressure load contained inside the machined pipe to the clamp.
