  • Patent number: 10021263
Abstract: An image processor includes an image process section, an image log application, and a platform. The image process section processes an image. The image log application acquires an image log serving as a log of the image processed by the image process section. The platform operates applications including the image log application. The platform provides the image log application with an image log API for acquiring the image log, and also the image log application provides the application with a service executed by using the image log API.

  • Patent number: 8446624
Abstract: A method of setting a user interface of a driver program of an image processing device includes applying a transparent setting to display the driver program in a transparent state on a display device to the driver program, and displaying the driver program with the applied transparent function on the display device when an application program operates the driver program. The driver program does not block an acquired result of the application program, and a user is able to perform a scanning operation at an optimum environment by adjusting a transparency level of the driver program displayed over the application program.

  • Patent number: 7916325
Abstract: This invention provides appropriate information of the next action or operation to be taken by the user on the basis of the property of a print job and status sent from a printer when paper-out information is sent from the printer while the print job is output to the printer having a plurality of paper supplying ports. To this end, it is monitored whether or not a paper-out message is received during output of a print job to the printer having the plurality of paper supplying ports. If a paper-out state has occurred, when the user has explicitly designated one paper supplying port, it is determined that the paper supplying port cannot be switched, and information that prompts the user to re-set paper sheets is displayed. On the other hand, when the user has not explicitly designated any paper supplying port, information indicating that another paper supplying port is selectable is displayed.

  • Patent number: 6058248
Abstract: A data resolution synthesis algorithm takes low resolution source input data (e.g., data degraded from compression or data acquired from low quality imaging devices) to synthesize high resolution output data. In an exemplary embodiment for color printing, the algorithm is performed by characterizing a multi-pixel area, or window, around a pixel that can benefit from resolution enhancement. To interpolate to a high resolution output a set of spatial filters is applied to the data area based on the window characterization. The output of the resolution synthesizer is a set of multiple pixels for each input pixel, representing the source input pixel in a higher resolution enhanced version. The filters are chosen from a stored data base (generic or specifically applicable data base for each type input device) created to fit input/output device requirements.

  • Patent number: 6034787
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an input device which inputs a digital input signal expressing a gradation, and a timing signal generator generates a predetermined timing signal. A delay device delays the timing signal in accordance with the gradation expressed by the digital input signal, and a pulse width modulation signal generator generates a pulse width generation signal having a pulse width in accordance with the gradation of the digital input signal, based upon the signal delayed by the delay device. An intermediate gradation is expressed by controlling on the ON/OFF time of a laser beam without the need for offset and gain adjustments which are characteristics of an analog circuit. In a first mode, one dot is formed in correspondence with one pixel of the digital input signal, and in a second mode one dot is formed in correspondence with a plurality of pixels of the digital input signal.

  • Patent number: 6018400
Abstract: The method of the invention controls a printer to overlap the processing of color plane image data and assures that there is no interruption between the processing of color planes. More specifically, the method of the invention provides a pair of queues, an imaging queue (IQ) wherein page strips are listed prior to being rasterized and a print engine queue (EQ) wherein page strips are listed after being rasterized. A first parameter identifies the color plane of page strips of a first color plane listed on the IQ and is associated with each of the page strips. A second parameter identifies the color plane of page strips that are being listed on the EQ after being rasterized. If the second parameter indicates that page strips of an earlier color plane are being passed to the EQ while the first parameter indicates that a page strip of a later color plane are being passed to the rasterizer, the page strips exiting from the rasterizer are listed on a work ahead queue (WAQ) instead of being listed on the EQ.

  • Patent number: 6014227
Abstract: Error diffusion apparatus processes and stores image data on a sub-column basis for pixels below and to the left of a current pixel along a common diagonal. Error data is diffused on a pixel by pixel basis relative to a next pixel right of the current pixel until the left most sub-column of pixels has a height corresponding to the height of the total number of nozzles in a single column of an inkjet printhead. In this manner, error diffusion is accomplished on the fly with buffer memory storage capacity being substantially reduced relative to other error diffusion processes.
