  • Patent number: 11212681
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting and/or preventing intrusions in a wireless network based on location information of wireless devices are provided. According to one embodiment, a database is maintained by a wireless network security system that includes historical location information and a media access control (MAC) address for multiple wireless devices observed by wireless access points (APs) of a wireless network of an enterprise. Information regarding one or more probe signals originated by a wireless device of the multiple wireless devices is received by the wireless network security system from the multiple APs. A location of the wireless device is determined by the wireless network security system based on the information. A potential attack being conducted by the wireless device or in which the wireless device is involved is identified based on one or more of behavior exhibited by the wireless device, the location and the database.

  • Patent number: 11191003
Abstract: A base station and a user equipment for a wireless communication network having a plurality of logical radio access networks are described. The base station communicates with a plurality of users to be served by the base station for accessing one or more of the logical radio access networks, and selectively controls the physical resources of the wireless communication network assigned to the logical radio access networks and/or controls access of the users or user groups to one or more of the logical radio access networks. The user equipment, for accessing at least one of the logical radio access networks, receives and processes a control signal from the base station, which indicates the physical resources of the wireless communication network assigned to the logical radio access network and/or includes access control information for the user equipment for accessing the logical radio access network.

  • Patent number: 11190901
Abstract: The disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods to minimize false alerts in a geofence system. In an example embodiment, a controller may receive location information of a vehicle traveling on a road that is substantially aligned with a segment of a geofence. The controller may identify a margin of error present in the location information and redefine the segment of the geofence based on the margin of error. The controller may then detect geofence violations with respect to the redefined segment of the geofence. In another example embodiment, a controller may receive location information of a vehicle. The controller may evaluate the location information and determine that the vehicle is crisscrossing a segment of a geofence while traveling on a road. The controller minimizes nuisance geofence exit alerts by redefining the geofence so as to include a geofence buffer zone that encompasses the crisscrossing travel path of the vehicle.

Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can be configured to automatically turn off notifications when generating a notification would cause a disturbance or be unwanted by a user. The device can be configured with quiet hours during which notifications that would otherwise be generated by the computing device can be suppressed. In some implementations, quiet hours can be configured as a time period with a start time and an end time. In some implementations, quiet hours can be derived from application data. For example, calendar data, alarm clock data, map data, etc. can be used to determine when quiet hours should be enforced. In some implementations, the device can be configured with exceptions to quiet hour notification suppression. In some implementations, the user can identify contacts to which the quiet hours notification suppression should not be applied.

  • Patent number: 11156694
Abstract: A mobile device collects data, which enables a generation of a radio map for a site. The collection comprises detecting at least one indication of a floor, at which a user is located, in a user input; and performing measurements on radio signals to obtain for each of a plurality of locations of the site a set of characteristics of radio signals. The mobile device receives, during the collection of data, data from a barometer, verifies a most recent indication of a floor in a user input based on changes in the data from the barometer, and outputs a warning to the user in the case of a discrepancy. The mobile device associates each set of characteristics with a floor indicated by a user. The mobile device provides the sets of characteristics and their association with a floor for a generation a radio map supporting a positioning at the site.

  • Patent number: 11140512
Abstract: Managing merchant coverage areas is complex. Different merchants may have different coverage areas, with some products only available in some regions, and so forth. When a user is searching for an available product, the user expects search results quickly. These search results may take into consideration which merchants offer which products at a user's physical location, or other location-dependent considerations. A system provides customizable region sets arranged in a hierarchy, where individual regions are indicative of a geographic area. The customized regions are usable by merchants to identify products or services available in different regions. The customized regions are also used to describe a user's physical location. The system may use the hierarchy of regions to quickly and efficiently determine which products or services are available to a user.
