    Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for implementing static channel filtering operations upon image datasets transformed to frequency domain representations, including decoding images of an image dataset to generate a frequency domain representation of the image dataset; discarding coefficient values of one or more particular frequency channels of each image of the image dataset in a frequency domain representation; and transporting the image dataset in a frequency domain representation to one or more special-purpose processor(s). Methods and systems of the present disclosure may enable a filtered image dataset to be input to a second layer of a learning model, bypassing a first layer, or may enable a learning model to be designed with a reduced-size first layer. This may achieve benefits such as reducing computational overhead and time of machine learning training and inference computations, reducing volume of image data input into the learning model, and reducing convergence time.

    Abstract: An image retrieval system receives an image for which to identify relevant images from an image repository. Relevant images may be of the same environment or object and features and other characteristics. Images in the repository are represented in an image retrieval graph by a set of image nodes connected by edges to other related image nodes with edge weights representing the similarity of the nodes to each other. Based on the received image, the image traversal system identifies an image in the image retrieval graph and alternatively explores and traverses (also termed “exploits”) the image nodes with the edge weights. In the exploration step, image nodes in an exploration set are evaluated to identify connected nodes that are added to a traversal set of image nodes. In the traversal step, the relevant nodes in the traversal set are added to the exploration set and a query result set.

The smartphone is equipped with custom optical lens attachments including a periscope that improves spatial separation between camera images. The apparatus monitors the varied levels of impurities, including turbidity and fluorescence, within continually running water, and triggers alarm signals. Machine vision software subsequently analyzes the spatially separated images and matches existing databases to identify key contaminant characteristics.

The system can determine pixel sets associated with the time series datasets based on the respective set of line segments associated with each image mask, and provide one or more pixel sets as input for a computing operation that processes the pixel sets and returns a processing result.
