Abstract: Flexible polyurethane foams having bulk densities within the range of from 15 to 60 kg/cm.sup.3 and a load bearing capacity, under a compression rate of 40%, higher than 50 N, obtained by the reaction of a modified polyisocyanate with a compound containing activated hydrogen atoms in chain-end position, and wherein agents different from chloro-fluoroalkanes are used as the foaming agent.
Abstract: Polyethers are disclosed which contain perfluoroalkyl groups and have the average formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is the same or different in the polymer mixture and represents hydrogen or a fluoro group,n has an average value of 4 to 12,a has an average value of 0 to 4,m has an average value of 2 to 18,x has an average value of 2 to 50 andy has an average value of 0 to 3.A method for the synthesis of the new polyols, which are usefull as surfactants and, with respect to the compounds of formula I, as polyol components in the synthesis of polyurethanes, is also disclosed.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a solid polyurethane composition having a glass transition temperature of from -20.degree. C. to 0.degree. C., having a Bayshore rebound of less than 20, and having a Shore A hardness of less than 80.
Abstract: A rosin based condensation product produced by reacting in a multistage process the following reactants, rosin, phenolic compounds, formaldehyde, unsaturated C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 dicarboxylic acid or maleic anhydride, monounsaturated or polyunsaturated aliphatic monohydric or dihydric alcohol or amine or a monounsaturated or polyunsaturated C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 aminoalcohol or C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 alkanediol or C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 aminoalcohol, monounsaturated or polyunsaturated C.sub.8 C.sub.40 fatty acid.

Abstract: A novel cationic electrodepositable resin which offers reduced bake off lose, reduced yellowing of topcoats and very smooth film is disclosed. The backbone resin contains the basic polyepoxy amine adduct but it is crosslinked with a diol modified methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) which is blocked with a mixture of various alcohols.
Abstract: A shape memory polymer foam which takes on a deformed shape and an as-molded shaped, said deformed shape being produced when the polymer foam is compressed at a temperature higher than the glass transition point (Tg) of the polymer and then kept compressed at a temperature lower than the Tg until compression sets, said as-molded shape being produced when the compressed polymer foam is heated again to a temperature higher than the Tg until it recovers its original shape.
Abstract: Hot melt adhesives with particularly high setting rates are obtained from the reaction products of polyisocyanates and hybroxypolyesters, the hydroxypolyester preferably being strictly aliphatic and containing at least 12 methylene groups in the polyester unit of diol and dicarboxylic acid.
Abstract: Dicyanato diphenyl fluorinated alkane resin precursor compositions are modified by the addition of minor predetermined amounts of aromatic diepoxides having high epoxide equivalent weights in order to reduce the curing temperature of prepregs and laminates, such as circuit boards, while retaining low dielectric constants, heat stability and high flame retardance.
