  • Patent number: 10337933
Abstract: A stirring paddle for isothermal titration calorimetry includes a blade secured to one end of a shaft. The blade has an edge and a pair of opposing surfaces. A lip extends from the edge and forms a non-zero angle with respect to the opposing surfaces. In some embodiments, the blade has a twisted rectangular shape defined by a pair of first opposing edges and a pair of second opposing edges. One of the first opposing edges is oriented at a rotation angle with respect to the shaft axis that is different than an orientation of the other first opposing edge with respect to the shaft axis. Advantageously, the stirring paddle achieves improved turbulent mixing of injections into liquid within a sample cell, resulting in shorter measurement times. The improved mixing efficiency allows the stirring paddle to be operated at a lower rotation rate.

  • Patent number: 10273065
Abstract: In some aspects, a keyed cap for a container is provided. Furthermore, in some aspects, a keyed container device including a container and the keyed cap for the container is also provided. Still further, in some aspects, a keyed containing system including a container, keyed cap for the container, and an electronic device having a keying element that is adapted to mate or otherwise fit with a specific keying element on the keyed cap. If a keyed cap has a keying element that does not correctly correspond to a specific keying element on an electronic device, then the keyed cap will not properly mate with the keying element on the electronic device. For example, the two keying elements that do not match may not fit sufficiently far enough within each other to permit the piercing member on the electronic device to reach a septum on the cap.

  • Patent number: 10244970
Abstract: There is provided a test method for analyzing a body fluid in which a test tape is used in a test device to successively provide analytical test fields stored on the test tape, wherein body fluid is applied by a user to the test field provided at a time and the said test field is photometrically scanned using a measuring unit of the device to record measurement signals. To increase the measurement reliability, it is proposed that a control value is determined from a time-dependent and/or wavelength-dependent change in the measurement signals and that the measurement signals are processed as valid or discarded as erroneous depending on the control value.
