Abstract: A stirring paddle for isothermal titration calorimetry includes a blade secured to one end of a shaft. The blade has an edge and a pair of opposing surfaces. A lip extends from the edge and forms a non-zero angle with respect to the opposing surfaces. In some embodiments, the blade has a twisted rectangular shape defined by a pair of first opposing edges and a pair of second opposing edges. One of the first opposing edges is oriented at a rotation angle with respect to the shaft axis that is different than an orientation of the other first opposing edge with respect to the shaft axis. Advantageously, the stirring paddle achieves improved turbulent mixing of injections into liquid within a sample cell, resulting in shorter measurement times. The improved mixing efficiency allows the stirring paddle to be operated at a lower rotation rate.

Abstract: A system and method for performing radiochemical synthesis, analysis and/or dispensing of radiopharmaceuticals using specially designed disposable components: palettes and caddies, the palette being an assembly of containers not connected with each other for direct material transfer; the caddy being a disposable component used to transfer material between containers on the palettes and/or other locations.
Abstract: A sampling plate (1) for use in measuring a property of a fluid sample comprising a sample zone comprising at least two discrete testing zones (5, 6) for receiving different respective volumes of the fluid sample. Each testing zone presents a zone volume defined by a respective zone area and a different respective zone height being a dimension transverse to the zone area (A).
Abstract: In some aspects, a keyed cap for a container is provided. Furthermore, in some aspects, a keyed container device including a container and the keyed cap for the container is also provided. Still further, in some aspects, a keyed containing system including a container, keyed cap for the container, and an electronic device having a keying element that is adapted to mate or otherwise fit with a specific keying element on the keyed cap. If a keyed cap has a keying element that does not correctly correspond to a specific keying element on an electronic device, then the keyed cap will not properly mate with the keying element on the electronic device. For example, the two keying elements that do not match may not fit sufficiently far enough within each other to permit the piercing member on the electronic device to reach a septum on the cap.
Abstract: A system and method for a beverage container configured to test for a contaminated beverage in the beverage container comprises a base of the beverage container, an upper portion of the beverage container, and a sidewall with an inner surface and an outer surface that extends from the base to the upper portion, and a testing material. A portion of the beverage container is the testing material configured to visibly react when the portion of the beverage container is contacted with the contaminated beverage.
Abstract: There is provided a test method for analyzing a body fluid in which a test tape is used in a test device to successively provide analytical test fields stored on the test tape, wherein body fluid is applied by a user to the test field provided at a time and the said test field is photometrically scanned using a measuring unit of the device to record measurement signals. To increase the measurement reliability, it is proposed that a control value is determined from a time-dependent and/or wavelength-dependent change in the measurement signals and that the measurement signals are processed as valid or discarded as erroneous depending on the control value.

Abstract: A method for holding samples for analysis and an apparatus thereof includes a testing plate with a pair of opposing surfaces and a plurality of holes. Each of the holes extends from one of the opposing surfaces to the other one of the opposing surfaces. The holes are arranged in groups, where each group has at least two rows and two columns of holes. The groups are arranged in sets, where each set has at least two rows and two columns of groups. To analyze samples, at least one of the opposing surfaces of the testing plate is immersed in a solution to be analyzed. A portion of the solution enters openings for each of the holes in the immersed opposing surface. Once the holes are filled with solution, the testing plate is removed and is held above a supporting surface. Surface tension holds the solution in each of the holes. The solution in one or more of the holes is then analyzed and the solution in one of these holes is identified for further study.
