  • Patent number: 5014087
Abstract: A phototool having frame assemblies connected by a hinge assembly. The hinge assembly comprises a first hinge plate, a second hinge plate and a hinge shaft. Protrusions are connected to the first hinge plate and a non-rotating insert is disposed in each protrusion. Each non-rotating insert receives a portion of the hinge shaft and is sized so that the hinge shaft is substantially non-rotatable within each non-rotating insert. Protrusions are connected to the second hinge plate and a rotating insert is disposed in each of these protrusions. The hinge shaft extends through each rotating insert and each rotating insert is sized so that the hinge shaft is rotatable within the insert without movement in radial directions.

  • Patent number: 4995443
Abstract: A method is disclosed for the casting of metals by the use of a consumable or evaporative pattern. In this method, a foamed pattern of a desired part is first formed. The pattern is then dipped into a ceramic slurry and the slurry dried in order to form a shell containing the foamed pattern. A heated bed of a particulate medium is formed around the ceramic shell which causes the pattern to evaporate and form a mold. A molten metal is then introduced into the mold, solidified and removed from the mold to form a casting.

  • Patent number: 4995144
Abstract: A connector is provided for hingedly connecting two substantially identical, elongate profile members together. These profile members define the rigid peripheries or frames of freestanding display panels or screens. Each connector comprises two link members, each having an elongate web carrying two spaced pivot pins, and two connecting parts. Each connecting part is either constituted by, or has the same profile, as a profile member. The connector enables the two profile members to be pivoted between a facing position and a side by side position. In one of these positions the two link members extend parallel to one another, while in the other of these positions, the two link members cross relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4986341
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for making non-oriented high Si steel sheet without problems during the sequence from the step of making molten steel to the step of rolling to final sheet thickness. An ingot (or a continuously cast piece) of high Si steel (containing 4.0 to 7.0% Si and specified with Al, Mn, C and P) is subjected to slabbing-hot rolling (or else directly slab rolling-hot rolling) and subsequently the hot rolled steel is reduced to thin thickness. The steel material is maintained at temperature of more than a determined temperature from the step of making molten steel to the step of hot rolling. In the step of hot rolling, information regarding finish rolling conditions and coiling conditions is used to provide structure suitable for the subsequent thin rolling. The hot rolled steel is then warm-rolled to the required thickness.

  • Patent number: 4985095
Abstract: A method to form a carpet tile into a configuration for use on a stair riser. This method involves measuring the stair riser and using this measurement to score the pile on the face of a tile. The tile is then bent to a 90.degree. angle and a nose guard adhesively placed over the bent or nose portion of the tile to provide a preformed product. This product then can be taken on the job, placed into position and readily tacked or glued down to provide the stairs with a tile product which is comparable to the adjacent tiled areas.

  • Patent number: 4984333
Abstract: A separable hinge connection comprising a leaf member and a pin means, the leaf member has a first hooked end which with a bridge overlying a body part of the leaf member couples the leaf member to the door and permits predetermined limited movement between the leaf member and the bridge and a second hooked end for releasable engagement with a hinge pin of the pin means, first and second stops on the pin means respectively limit rotational movement of the door and prevent vertical movement of the door for all but the final portion of the door opening movement, first and second restraining means respectively prevent and restrain the second hooked end from disengagement from the hinge pin, the second restraining means has a height above which said leaf member can be raised when the door is in said last portion of the door opening movement thereby allowing the leaf member to pass over the said second restraining means to uncouple the leaf member from the hinge pin.
