  • Patent number: 10627137
Abstract: A refrigerated transportation cargo container includes a container and a refrigeration unit to provide a flow of refrigerated supply air for the container. The refrigeration unit has refrigerant flowing there through and includes a compressor and an engine (36) powered by a flow of fuel and driving the compressor. A regeneration heat exchanger (50) gasifies the fuel prior to the fuel entering the engine via a thermal energy exchange with the refrigerant flowing through the regeneration heat exchanger. A method of operating a refrigeration unit includes connecting an engine to a compressor and enabling a flow of refrigerant through the refrigeration unit. The refrigerant is directed through a regeneration heat exchanger as a flow of liquid fuel. The fuel is gasified at the regeneration heat exchanger via a thermal energy exchange with the refrigerant. • Patent number: 10619917
Abstract: A liquefaction system is capable of sequentially or simultaneously liquefying multiple feed streams of hydrocarbons having different normal bubble points with minimal flash. The liquefying heat exchanger has separate circuits for handling multiple feed streams. The feed stream with the lowest normal boiling point is sub-cooled sufficiently to suppress most of the flash. Feed streams with relatively high normal boiling points are cooled to substantially the same temperature, then blended with bypass streams to maintain each product near its normal bubble point. The system can also liquefy one stream at a time by using a dedicated circuit or by allocating the same feed to multiple circuits.

  • Patent number: 10619875
Abstract: A controller of an indoor unit included in an air-conditioning system determines whether or not a communication error with the outdoor unit is an energization error that only occurs during an energization time in which electric power is fed from a commercial power supply to the outdoor unit. The controller can also determine whether or not the communication error is a connection establishment error that occurs at a time of establishing a connection with the outdoor unit. Based on determining the cause of the communication error with the outdoor unit, the controller can drive a fan by electric power fed from an emergency power supply.

  • Patent number: 10605508
Abstract: A heat pump system can be reversed to either heat or cool a controlled space, such as environment in a building. In a typical use, such as heat pump system extracts heat or cold energy from the surrounding air around the building. A water-to-refrigerant heat exchanger is added to the refrigerant loop of the heat pump system along with a control system to operate water flow and a thermal energy exchange process. Addition of the water heat exchanger can add the heat or cold energy stored in a pool, or other external water reservoir, into the heat or cold exchanging process. Depending upon surrounding conditions, the automatic control system can switch in-between the energy sources, or use a combination of them, to improve efficiency the heat pump system.
