  • Patent number: 5118112
Abstract: A system for analyzing the balance of a golfer during a golf swing and to determine weight shifts from one foot to the other and between the heel and toe of each foot during a golf swing. Basically the system comprises two foot pads capable of measuring weight on each pad and on the front and rear portions of each pad, a display for displaying weight information in digital and/or graphical form, a sound sensor for sensing the impact of a golf club against a golf ball and a microprocessor system for receiving information from the pads and generating the display. In use, a golfer positions the foot pads where his feet would be in his normal golf stance, arranges the display in front of the pads a safe distance away, positions the cable between footpads and display out of the way and places a normal golf ball on a tee or on the ground the appropriate distance from the footpads. The unit is turned on and parameters are set, the golfer stands on the footpads and then takes his normal swing at the golf ball.

  • Patent number: 5118105
Abstract: A statistical analysis package for a bowling center system provides displays used to analyze bowling ball trajectories. The bowling center system includes a central processing unit having a memory and connected to a ball trajectory unit. The ball trajectory unit generates information representing the trajectory of a bowling ball in a lane which is stored in the processing unit memory. The processing unit memory is operable in response to a user request for selecting trajectory information to develop statistical graphs illustrating historical tendencies at a select trajectory position for display on a monitor.

  • Patent number: 5116056
Abstract: An apparatus for practicing golf swings indoors having a net assembly suspended from a support rail attached to an overhead structure such as the rafters in a garage. The net assembly is attached to a plurality of hangers which are slidably attached to the support rail so the net assembly can be pulled to one side when not in use. The net assembly is scrolled at the bottom to form a trough which catches balls directed toward the net and to create a seal with the playing surface and to form. Golf balls directed toward the net assembly from a playing mat having a tee are restrained and caught by the net assembly.

  • Patent number: 5116313
Abstract: An apparatus for injecting liquids into a body without using hypodermic needles, the liquid being ejected from a small orifice in a probe at a velocity which will penetrate the surface of a body against which the probe is placed. The apparatus ejects a specific small volume of the liquid under a very high initial velocity and pressure followed by the ejection of the main charge of liquid at a lower velocity so that the liquid flows into the channel caused by the initial penetration without penetrating to a greater depth. The probe is connected to a hand-held portion whose other end is attached via a flexible tube containing a suitable hydraulic fluid to two remote pressure intensifiers, one of which creates the required high initial pressure for a short period of time and the other of which provides the pressure necessary to eject the main charge of liquid at a lower velocity.

  • Patent number: 5114145
Abstract: The tennis racket frame according to the present invention has a total weight of 230-300 g and total length of 52-67 cm and a periodic damping ratio of 0.5-4.0%, which is constituted of a fiber reinforced resin composed of polyamide resin reinforced by a continuous fiber and/or long fiber reinforcing material. A resin layer containing a non-woven fabric may be provided at the inside, outside or/and in the middle of the fiber reinforced resin layer. Because of this structure, the tennis racket frame of the present invention can be light in weight and compact in size with a large periodic damping property, making it possible to avoid tennis elbow.

  • Patent number: 5112054
Abstract: An improved compact golf course simulates, with great realism, the drive, approach, chipping, and putting of a golf game played on a full scale course. The compact course provides the player with at least nine distinct target greens for his approach shot, each green having different sand or water hazards. The course provides the player with a plurality of chipping greens that may be played from the drive area. A common putting green containing nine holes is used to putt-out after the drives and approach shots have all been played out on the nine target greens. The target greens are designed to automatically clear balls from their surface. All drive, approach, and chip shots are taken from a common, relatively compact area. In an alternate preferred embodiment, distinctly marked putting zones are provided on the target greens and the chipping greens and for each of the holes on the common putting green.

  • Patent number: 5112049
Abstract: A section of the play field is changed during play by replacing components mounted thereon with different components. In other words, the section of the play field is replaced with a new section. Preferably this is done by rotating the section of the play field to expose different components that were previously stored below the play field surface. In a preferred embodiment the section of the play field is coupled by a slip clutch to a continuously running motor, and a solenoid operated catch mechanism stops rotation of the section of the play field when it is approximately parallel to the rest of the play field surface. To change the components included in the play field, the solenoid is energized to release the catch and thereby permit rotation of the section of the play field by approximately 180 degrees.

  • Patent number: 5112063
Abstract: A broadhead (10) having deployable cutting blades (22) (24) is kept in the retracted position, wherein the blades (22) (24) have a slimmer profile, during the flight of an arrow by a tubular, external restraint (20) which fits over the body (16) of the broadhead (10). When the broadhead (10) impacts against an animal, the plunger (18), which is slidably mounted in the front of the body (16) is forced into the body (16) and causes the blades (22) (24) to be deployed out of the slots (12) (14). As the blades (24) are moved out of the slot (14), the tubular restraint (20) is cut from the body (16) by the cutting edge (26).

  • Patent number: 5108110
Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for playing a multi-participant game related to a team sport. The apparatus includes a set of player cards, each identifying a player, a team and the player's position. A set of position cards identifying the various player positions on a team is also provided. The game is played on a game board with a track marked up in playing areas. As a participant advances a token along the track under the direction of a chance device, the token will land on playing areas representing the player cards, allowing the player to accumulate a set of players. Other playing areas will allow the player to move cards from a practice roster to an active roster and to trade player cards with other players. When a token lands at the end of the track, the participant draws a card from the position deck and, if he has an active player with that position, he may complete that player.
