  • Patent number: 9996405
Abstract: A prognostics analysis software module is embedded in a programmable logic controller (PLC) software platform. During cycling of the PLC real-time operating program, data is read from sensors and written to a buffer only when the prognostics analysis software module is idle. The prognostics analysis software module is then activated by a system function block of the PLC software platform. Before determining any prognostic information, prediction models within the prognostics analysis software module are automatically trained using features extracted from the sensor data.

  • Patent number: 9977060
Abstract: A computer-implemented method can include determining an amplitude for each of a plurality of input channels, corresponding to respective nodes. A measure of similarity can be computed between the input channel of each node and the input channel of its neighboring nodes. The method can also include comparing an amplitude for each node relative to other nodes to determine temporary bad channels. For each of the temporary bad channels, a measure of similarity can be computed between the input channel of each node and the input channel of its neighboring nodes. Channel integrity can then be identified based on the computed measures of similarity.

  • Patent number: 9965177
Abstract: A method executes software including a view hierarchy with a plurality of views which displays one or more views of the view hierarchy. The method executes software elements associated with a particular view, wherein each particular view includes event recognizers. Each event recognizer has an event definition based on sub-events, and an event handler that specifies an action for a target, and is configured to send the action to the target in response to an event recognition. The method detects a sequence of sub-events, and identifies one of the views of the view hierarchy as a hit view that establishes which views in the hierarchy are actively involved views. The method delivers a respective sub-event to event recognizers for each actively involved view, wherein each event recognizer for actively involved views in the view hierarchy processes the respective sub-event prior to processing a next sub-event in the sequence of sub-events.

  • Patent number: 9945953
Abstract: This invention relates to methods and devices for bias estimation and correction, particularly for time-of-arrival (TOA) based wireless geolocation systems. Multipath and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) biases can cause distance estimation errors in the range of tens-hundreds of meters and is particularly problematic in urban and indoor environments. The behavior of the biases dynamically changes depending on the clutter and/or obstructions between the base station and the mobile device. Aspects of the present invention provide practical real-time bias estimation and correction techniques for TOA-based systems and are based on inferring and estimating the biases from dynamic time differential measurements. The techniques can operate in real-time and involve simple calculations.

  • Patent number: 9921306
Abstract: An active state estimation system comprises radar systems for obtaining sensor measurements, data storage devices for storing the sensor measurements, and computer processors in communication with the data storage devices. A memory stores program instructions which cause the computer processors to initialize a system having state variables and also having unknown, multidimensional, arbitrarily time-varying parameters, but which are subject to known bounded values. Sensor measurements for the object being tracked are then received, and applied to an estimating filter that explicitly uses a mean square optimization criterion that separately accounts for measurement errors and said bounding values, to produce estimates of the true state of the system. The system also determines whether a regime change has occurred based on the estimates of the true state of the system, and if so, determines updated known bounded values that are used to update the boundaries used by the system.
