  • Patent number: 11880518
Abstract: Certain exemplary embodiments relate to entertainment systems and, more particularly, to systems that incorporate digital downloading jukebox features and improved user interfaces. For instance, a smart search may be provided, e.g., where search results vary based on the popularity of songs within the venue, in dependence on songs being promoted, etc. As another example, a tile-based approach to organizing groupings of songs is provided. Groupings may involve self-populating collections of songs that combine centrally-promoted songs, songs in a given genre that are popular across an audiovisual distribution network, and songs that are locally popular and match up with the given genre (e.g., because of shared attributes such as same or similar genre, artist, etc.). Different tile visual presentations also are contemplated, as are different physical jukebox designs. In certain example embodiments, a sealed core unit with the “brains” of the jukebox is insertable into a docking station.

  • Patent number: 11875219
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for detecting and acquiring one or more in-focus images of one or more barcodes within the field of view of an imaging device. A measurement process measures depth-of-field of barcode detection. A plurality of nominal coarse focus settings of a variable lens allow sampling, in steps, of a lens adjustment range corresponding to allowable distances between the one or more barcodes and the image sensor, so that a step size of the sampling is less than a fraction of the depth-of-field of barcode detection. An acquisition process acquires a nominal coarse focus image for each nominal coarse focus setting. A barcode detection process detects one or more barcode-like regions and respective likelihoods. A fine focus process fine-adjusts, for each high-likelihood barcode, the variable lens near a location of the barcode-like regions. The process acquires an image for decoding using the fine adjusted setting.

  • Patent number: 11875206
Abstract: In an illustrative system, a point-of-sale scanner is equipped to respond to multiple different symbologies printed on a single product. The scanner captures many frames per second, as products are swiped through a viewing volume. Each frame is decoded, yielding one or more payloads. A reconciliation module compares each newly-decoded payload against a list of payloads previously output by the module, to determine if the current payload is semantically-equivalent to a previously-output payload. If so, the previously-output payload is output again, in lieu of the just-decoded payload. If no equivalent is found, the current payload is output and added to the list for comparison against future payloads. A great number of other features and arrangements are also detailed.

  • Patent number: 11863994
Abstract: In an example, a provider system receives from a client device a request for client sign-on access. The provider system sends to the client device a request for identification information of the client. The provider system receives client information associated with a first mobile identification credential (MIC) which the client device received from an authorizing party system (APS), the client having consented to release the client information to the provider system, and the client information having been verified by the APS. The provider system uses the verified client information associated with the first MIC to verify or not verify the identity of the client. The provider system verifies the identity of the client before granting the client the request for client sign-on access.

  • Patent number: 11862310
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable media are provided for facilitating clinical decision making, and in particular, decision making based on a third party's clinical situation by determining and providing useful, up-to-date information, such as patient-related information to a decision maker. In one embodiment, a user first identifies an information item concerning a patient. Based on that item, a set of related information items is determined and prioritized, and a reference pointer, which identifies the set of related information, is generated. The reference pointer is communicated to the user's mobile device. Subsequently, the user's mobile device requests information from the set of information items associated with the reference pointer, and provides information authorization information. Following authentication of the user's credentials, updates of information from the set of information items may be communicated to the user's mobile device as they become available.
