  • Patent number: 7097172
Abstract: A paper feeding cassette includes a frame provided with a bottom plate to support paper and a plurality of walls to define a paper loading size. The paper feeding cassette also includes a loading size adjustment device to pivotally connect at least one of the walls to be hinged on the bottom plate, so that the at least one wall is movable between a vertical position to limit the paper loading size, and a horizontal position to not limit the paper loading size, enabling a variation of the paper loading size. Since the loading size of the paper feeding cassette is varied in accordance with a size of papers to be used, papers of various sizes may be used without having to increase a size of the cassette and an office machine which uses the cassette.

  • Patent number: 7097022
Abstract: The image manipulation unit (17) corrects the tilt and color shade of the paper-piece image data obtained by the optical sensor unit (13). The template comparison unit (18) makes the for-comparison banknote image data of each denomination from the paper-piece image data made by the image manipulation unit (17) and the reference data of each denomination stored in the reference data unit (19). And the process of pattern matching of the for-comparison banknote image data with the template with the corresponding denomination stored in the template unit (20) is performed for all denominations, and the denomination with the closest distance between patterns is discriminated as the denomination of the piece of paper. The result of the discrimination is stored in the memory unit (21).

  • Patent number: 7086677
Abstract: A vertical lift system is constructed for transporting a receptacle, such as a food or supply receptacle from one deck to another deck, particularly in an aircraft. For this purpose, a vertical lift (71) is equipped with a number of lifting hooks (10) each mechanically coupled to a respective locking pawl (11). Each receptacle is equipped with a respective number of latch elements (9) such as recesses (92) to be engaged by a respective hook (10). The latching and unlatching is caused by the cooperation of the hooks (10) and pawls (11) with each other, with a stationary activating member (12) engaging a cam track (113) of a pawl (11), with biasing forces and with the latch elements (9). Latching requires a small downward motion of the vertical lift. Unlatching requires a slight further downward motion of the vertical lift. During latching and unlatching the receptacle (3) is supported on a floor (13).

  • Patent number: 7080863
Abstract: An apparatus for picking up an object has an elongated handle having a lower end carrying a downwardly open bell. A tubular body inside the bell has a lower edge and can move between a lower position with this edge projecting downward past a lower bell edge and an upper position. A downwardly open bag has a closed upper end releasably retained inside the tubular body and an open end lying against an outer surface of the lower body edge. An elastic annular element engages around the body and the bag immediately above the tapered lower body edge and holds the bag against the outer surface of the lower end of the tubular body. Upward displacement of the tubular body into the upper position causes the lower bell edge to downwardly engage and push the elastic annular element downward off the tubular body.
