Abstract: Methods for evaluating microsatellite instability (MSI) analyze nucleic acid sequence reads corresponding to a plurality of marker regions for MSI. The marker regions may include long homopolymers and/or short tandem repeats (STRs). For a target homopolymer, a histogram of homopolymer signal values is calculated based on flow space signal measurements for the homopolymer region in the sequence reads. A score per marker based on features of the histogram of homopolymer signal values is determined for each marker region corresponding to the target homopolymers. For a target STR, the method includes calculating a histogram of repeat lengths for sequence reads corresponding to the marker region of the target STR. A score per STR marker is calculated based on features of the histogram of repeat lengths. A plurality of per marker scores may be combined to form a total MSI score for the sample.

Abstract: Provided are a search method and apparatus, and an electronic device and a storage medium. The method comprises: receiving a generic query search request, the generic query search request carrying a generic query term; acquiring at least one multimedia content card corresponding to the generic query term, wherein each multimedia content card corresponds to an extension tag corresponding to the generic query search request, each multimedia content card comprises information of a plurality of multimedia content sets; and presenting information of the plurality of multimedia content sets comprised in each multimedia content card of the at least one multimedia content card. Search results related to a generic query term can be clustered from various dimensions and presented, such that a user can directly find content related to a search intention of the user, thereby improving the search efficiency and shortening a search path.

Abstract: A method for data presentation includes assembling a set of documents in response to a search query by a user having a social network. A respective person is identified with each of a group of documents in the set. For at least one document in the group, a chain of one or more links is found in the social network between the respective person and the user. A search results page is displayed, including an identification of the at least one document together with a sequence of breadcrumbs corresponding to the one or more links in the chain.

Abstract: A system and method include receiving, by a database engine of a database system associated with a virtual computing system, a user request via a dashboard for provisioning a source database with the database system, receiving, by the database engine via the dashboard, selection of a database engine type, and receiving, by the database engine via the dashboard, selection of a Service Level Agreement (“SLA”) and a protection schedule. The system and method also include provisioning, by the database engine, the source database based upon the database engine type, creating, by the database engine, an instance of a database protection system based upon the SLA and the protection schedule, including associating the instance of the database protection system with the source database, and displaying, by the database engine, the source database within the dashboard.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a memory system includes a controller which controls garbage collection for preparing one or more free blocks by writing valid data read from N blocks to one or more blocks of less than the N. The controller calculates a performance ratio between writing of data in response to a request from a host device and writing of data for the garbage collection in accordance with a data writable capacity remaining in a nonvolatile memory, calculates an average performance ratio from calculated performance ratios of M generations including a calculated latest performance ratio, and adjusts a performance cycle of the garbage collection by applying one of the calculated latest performance ratio and the calculated average performance ratio.

Abstract: A transitive closure data structure is constructed for a pair of features represented in a vector space corresponding to an input dataset. The data structure includes a set of entries corresponding to a set of all possible paths between a first feature in the pair and a second feature in the pair in a graph of the vector space. The data structure is reduced by removing a subset of the set of entries such that only a single entry corresponding to a single path remains in the transitive closure data structure. A feature cross is formed from a cluster of features remaining in a reduced ontology graph resulting from the reducing the transitive closure data structure. A layer is configured in a neural network to represent the feature cross, which causes the neural network to produce a prediction that is within a defined accuracy relative to the dataset.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to the distribution of database key permissions. A database system may distribute first permission information to a plurality of database nodes that identifies a distribution of key range permissions to ones of the plurality of database nodes. A given key range permission being distributed to a given database node may permit that database node to write records whose keys fall within a key range associated with the given key range permission. The database system may receive, from a first database node, a request for a first key range permission provisioned to a second database node. The database system may modify the first permission information to derive second permission information that provisions the first key range permission to the first database node instead of the second database node. The database system may distribute the second permission information to ones of the plurality of database nodes.

Abstract: Discovering environment objects for information management in a networked environment. Information management provides services such as data protection, backup, retention, compliance, etc., by classifying the objects and/or infrastructure of an entity according to its value to the entity. Information management begins by discovering the data in a network and by discovering the servers and services operating in a network. The servers and services are discovered using adapters that can collect information regarding the environment objects. Objects can be discovered using cascaded discovery, where the information collected by one adapter is used to drive the collection of additional information by other adapters. This information can then by used by information management systems to assign or orchestrate various services.

Abstract: Embodiments disclose a system that allows for improved generation of web requests for scraping that, because of the nature of the requests and time and manner they are sent out, appear more organic, as in human generated, than conventional automated scraping systems. The system then manages how a client request to scrape a target website is made to the site, masking the request in a manner that makes it appear to the Web server as if the request is not generated by an automated system. In this way, by appearing more organic, Web servers may be less likely to block requests from the disclosed system or may take longer to block requests from the disclosed system. By avoiding Web servers blocking requests and extending the lifetime of IP proxies before they are blocked, embodiments can use a limited IP proxy address space more efficiently.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a first search unit configured to search for a feature of an object extracted from a video image in a registration list in which a feature indicating a predetermined object to be detected and identification information for identifying the predetermined object are registered, a generation unit configured to generate a first list in which at least the ID information about the predetermined object corresponding to the extracted object is registered in a case where the feature of the extracted object is detected in the registration list and generate a second list in which the feature of the extracted object is registered in a case where the feature of the extracted object is not detected in the registration list, and a second search unit configured to search for a target object designated by a user in the first list or the second list.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method comprises storing a connected entity graph in which a node corresponds to an entity type of an electronic note, a person, or an event, and an edge connects two nodes; receiving, via a graphical user interface (GUI), a specific entity type and a selection of a specific node; causing displaying in the GUI a second degree view, including the specific node in the center, first nodes connected to the specific node with zero or one intermediary node in the connected entity graph in a first concentric layout, and second nodes connected to the specific node with two intermediary nodes in the connected entity graph in a second concentric layout, the first nodes and second nodes corresponding to a common entity type, the specific node corresponding to a different entity type, and the nodes corresponding to an electronic note and the specific entity type.

Abstract: A data backup and recovery method and system using allocated data blocks include identifying a first snapshot associated with a virtual machine; accessing changed block tracking data associated with data changes occurred in the virtual machine, the data changes corresponding to a set of changed data blocks; accessing block allocation status data associated with the set of changed data blocks; identifying one or more allocated data blocks from the set of changed data blocks that are associated with allocated status based on the block allocation status data; and storing the one or more allocated data blocks to a storage device.

Abstract: A method for referencing and updating objects in a shared resource environment. A reference counter counts is incremented for every use of an object subtype in a session and decremented for every release of an object subtype in a session. A session counter is incremented upon the first instance of fetching an object type into a session cache and decremented upon having no instances of the object type in use in the session. When both the reference counter and the session counter are zero, the object type may be removed from the cache. When the object type needs to be updated, it is cloned into a local cache, and changes are made on the local copy. The global cache is then locked to all other users, the original object type is detached, and the cloned object type is swapped into the global cache, after which the global cache in unlocked.

Abstract: A graphical user interface allows a customer to specify delimiters and/or patterns that occur in event data and indicate the presence of a particular field. The graphical user interface applies a customer's delimiter specifications directly to event data and displays the resulting event data in real time. Delimiter specifications may be saved as configuration settings and systems in a distributed setting may use the delimiter specifications to extract field values as the systems process raw data into event data. Extracted field values are used to accelerate search queries that a system receives.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, with respect to a target set of files being managed (e.g., protected by data snapshots), each file in the target set of files is classified into one of two or more filesets (discontiguous filesets), where each of these filesets comprises one or more files that are related to each other by one or more factors, such as frequency of file change or purpose of existence (e.g., used by a software application). Once classified, files within the target set of files can be uniquely processed by a data management operation (e.g., incremental data snapshot process) according to their association to a discontiguous fileset.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for accessing information associated with an organization hierarchy. In one aspect of the disclosure, a method includes transmitting, from a device to a server in which multiple group models are stored, an access request to access a first group model of the multiple group models. Each group model of the multiple group models is associated with a different organization and includes multiple group data structures, multiple group type data structures, and multiple group member data structures. Each group model is associated with group hierarchy information that indicates a hierarchy associated with the multiple group data structures associated with the group model. The method further includes receiving, at the device and based on the access request, first hierarchy information associated with a first group model. Abstract: Techniques for on-the-fly adaptation of remembered set data structures are disclosed. Operations include initiating execution of an application thread and a garbage collection process for a heap memory including a first plurality of logical partitions, wherein each logical partition of the first plurality of logical partitions is associated with a remembered set data structure. While the application thread and the garbage collection process are executing, the system determines a set of characteristics. Based on the set of characteristics meeting threshold criteria for adjusting a first remembered set data structure corresponding to a first logical partition, the system identifies a first remembered set configuration corresponding to the first remembered set data structure, creates a replacement remembered set data structure based on the first remembered set configuration, and associates the replacement remembered set data structure with the first logical partition.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein describe systems and methods to generate statuses of higher level integrated logical clusters from one or more output files generated by the clusterwares of a plurality of lower level physical clusters. The systems and methods provide an interactive dashboard graphical user interface (GUI) rendering the statuses of the higher level logical clusters. In response to a drill down selection by the system administrator, the systems and methods may render resource level statuses of the plurality of resources forming the higher level logical cluster. Therefore, by using a single dashboard, a system administrator can seamlessly transition between statuses at different level of abstractions for multiple resources distributed across multiple geographically diverse datacenters. Furthermore, the dashboard allows the system administrator to perform failover operations.
