Abstract: A method comprises displaying a plurality of items to a user on a first page on a display screen of an electronic device. Each item of the plurality of items displayed on the first page is classified according to whether an item is of interest to the user viewing the display screen. A correlation factor between the user and each item classified as of interest to the user is determined. The method also includes, for at least the first one of the plurality of items determined to have a correlation factor above a predetermined threshold, identifying detailed information about a first one of the plurality of items. The identified detailed information about a first one of the plurality of items is automatically displayed. The identified detailed information is displayed without receiving an input indicating a selection of a first one of the plurality of items from a hand-operated input device.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes retrieving a tenant identifier of a plurality of tenant identifiers identifying a set of users with authorized access to one or more data repositories of a plurality of data repositories. An indexing agent associated with the tenant identifier is configured based on indexing configuration information. The indexing configuration information includes at least an identifier of the one or more data repositories, location information for accessing the repositories, and one or more file patterns. Indexed data associated with the tenant identifier is retrieved from an indexing server executing the indexing agent. The indexed data includes text data obtained by the indexing agent during indexing using at least one data file associated with the one or more file patterns and stored in the one or more data repositories, and a cryptographic hash of the at least one data file.

Abstract: A system for administering, evaluating, and monitoring a subject's compliance with task performance requirements within an action programme comprising optical sensors for capturing subject's facial expression, eye movements, point-of-gaze, and head pose of a subject during a compliance evaluation and monitoring session; a domain knowledge data repository comprising concept data entities, each having knowledge and skill content items, and task data entities, each having lecture content material items; a subject module configured to estimate the subject's affective state and cognitive state using the sensory data collected from the optical sensors; and a trainer module configured to select a task data entity for delivery and presentment to the subject after each completion of a task data entity based on a probability of the subject's understanding of the associated concept data entity's knowledge and skill content items and a probability of the subject achieving a target compliance level.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided to implement an analytic inference engine for inferring cognitive capabilities across multiple cognitive analytics applied to literature. The analytic inference engine receives cognitive analytic output generated by multiple cognitive analytics applied to a portion of content. Response to the analytic inference engine finding a first offset in a first cognitive analytic output matching a second offset in a second cognitive analytic output, the analytic inference engine identifies unique features in the first cognitive analytic output and the second cognitive analytic output with respect to the matching offset. The analytic inference engine generates a composite analytic output comprising the unique features with respect to the matching offset.

Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system and method for restoring volumes in a data storage system. A virtual restoration of a volume of data stored in storage is performed using a target volume. In one embodiment, the virtual restoration includes configuring metadata associated with the target volume, to map the target volume to the recover volume as a virtual restoration of the recover volume. In response to a request by a host for data stored on the recover volume, physical restoration of data of the recover volume is performed using the target volume. In one embodiment, the physical restoration includes transferring data to the target volume from the recover volume to which the target volume is mapped by the virtual restoration. In addition, transferred data is relabeled as target volume data instead of recover volume data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to execution optimization of database queries. Herein are techniques for optimal execution based on query interpretation by translation to a domain specific language (DSL), with optimizations such as partial evaluation, abstract syntax tree (AST) rewriting, just in time (JIT) compilation, dynamic profiling, speculative logic, and Futamura projection. In an embodiment, a database management system (DBMS) that is hosted on a computer generates a query tree that represents a database query that contains an expression that is represented by a subtree of the query tree. The DBMS generates a sequence of DSL instructions that represents the subtree. The sequence of DSL instructions is executed to evaluate the expression during execution of the database query. In an embodiment, an AST is generated from the sequence of DSL instructions. In an embodiment, the DSL AST is optimally rewritten based on a runtime feedback loop that includes dynamic profiling information.

Abstract: A graphical user interface allows a customer to specify delimiters and/or patterns that occur in event data and indicate the presence of a particular field. The graphical user interface applies a customer's delimiter specifications directly to event data and displays the resulting event data in real time. Delimiter specifications may be saved as configuration settings and systems in a distributed setting may use the delimiter specifications to extract field values as the systems process raw data into event data. Extracted field values are used to accelerate search queries that a system receives.

Abstract: A system and method for managing permissions of users for a column-oriented data structure, including: generating a column oriented data structure in response to receiving a request to generate the data structure from a first user device associated with a first user account, wherein the data structure comprises a plurality of columns, wherein each column is of single data type and is assigned metadata associated with the single data type; associating the first user account with a first set of permissions associated with the generated data structure; and, associating a second user account with a second set of permissions, wherein the first set of permissions comprises at least one additional permission with respect to the second set of permissions.

Abstract: With increasing demand for distributed intelligent physical systems performing big data analytics on the field and in real-time, processing-in-memory (PIM) architectures integrating 3D-stacked memory and logic layers could provide higher performance and energy efficiency. Towards this end, the PIM design requires principled and rigorous optimization strategies to identify interactions and manage data movement across different vaults.

Abstract: Presented herein are embodiments for quickly identifying and recommending key performance indicators (KPIs) for network devices based on the type of network device and/or role of the device. The type or configuration of the network device may be obtained and compared to the capabilities of the network device. Operational or performance information of the network device, represented by strings, may be obtained based on the configuration information. Operational information that is not relevant to the configuration of the network device may be filtered out. The remaining operational information may be ranked as KPIs based on a relevance of the operational information with respect to the configuration information.

Abstract: An example embodiment may involve a software application executable on a computing device of a computational instance of a remote network management platform associated with a managed network. The software application may receive, from a client device of the managed network, a natural language query, determine that a first term of the query does not match any term in a list of predetermined terms, and revise the query by (i) applying a set of linguistic rules that modify the first term to generate a replacement term, (ii) determining whether the replacement term matches at least one term in the list, and (iii) after determining that the replacement term matches at least one term in the list, replacing the first term in the query with the replacement term. The software application may then parse the revised query, search the database, and transmit a result to the client device.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media for an improved database management system that provides database transactions on a non-transactional database. The database management system executes garbage collection on data stored in a database to remove data values written to the database as part of uncommitted transactions. Each uncommitted transaction is associated with a respective transaction identifier that is not included in a list of committed transaction identifiers. The list of committed transaction identifiers lists, in sequential order, transaction identifiers for committed transaction. After removing each data value written to the database as part of an uncommitted transaction, the database management system modifies the list of committed transaction identifiers to include the transaction identifier for the uncommitted transaction.

The software-constructed grouping of storage units stores encoded data slices. A data segment is encoded using an information dispersal algorithm to produce the encoded data slices. The system further includes a grid access manager that generates a data structure pertaining to the software-constructed grouping of storage units. A storage unit of the software-constructed grouping of storage units receives, from a client computer of the system, a request regarding the data segment, obtains, from the data structure, information regarding the request, determines whether the request is valid based on the information regarding the request, and when the request is valid, executes the request.

Abstract: Migration results in specific action requests to move data from a source system instance to a target system instance. Migration may consume many resources. In an effort to monitor migration effects on source and/or target performance, one or more traffic lights are determined to monitor utilization of resources of the source and/or target. Based on the one or more traffic lights, migration is dynamically throttled. The one or more traffic light may be assigned a status based on how the migration affects performance of another data operation which may be contemporaneously operating on either the source and/or the target.
