  • Patent number: 10924579
Abstract: Systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for mapping requests for content received at a CDN to multiple mid-tier content servers. In an example, a method involves utilizing one or more hashing algorithms to map a URL associated with the mid-tier devices to one or more hostnames that may be utilized by the CDN to route requests for content to a particular mid-tier device when an edge device cannot service the request. In this manner, one content device of a particular metro receives requests for particular content and serves that content. By limiting the requests for particular content to a particular mid-tier device, storage may be more efficiently allocated across the mid-tier devices and content not replicated at multiple mid-tier devices.

  • Patent number: 10911327
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for managing service delivery quality levels and telemetry. In one embodiment, an entity (such as a Session Resource Manager or SRM) receives network layout data from the network. The SRM uses the layout data to generate a mapping of the network. The SRM also receives performance data related to the interconnections of the network. The performance data is then applied to the mapping such that, in one variant, an visual overlay showing network flow and/or performance analytics is created. Based on this mapping showing layout and corresponding performance, the SRM generates rules for delivery of services. The rules may detail preferred routes and service level information. The rules are the distributed to nodes along the delivery route and delivery is executed in compliance with the rules.

  • Patent number: 10846115
Abstract: Techniques described and suggested herein include systems and methods for updating, adding, deleting, managing, and otherwise manipulating instance data across multiple virtual instances in an addressable fashion. For example, a customer may control or otherwise be associated with a fleet of virtual instances running on one or more hosts of a computing resource service provider. The described techniques enable customers, or other entities, to update instance data related to arbitrarily defined groups of the fleet using, e.g., tags or other common identifiers, so as to, e.g., alter operational characteristics of some or all of a given fleet of virtual instances without necessitating individual alteration of each instance.

  • Patent number: 10826868
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for resolving conflicting network addresses by utilizing a DNS server to configure an edge computing device. The DNS server may receive, from a client computing device, a request to resolve a hostname of a recipient computing device. The DNS server may determine a resolved network address corresponding to the hostname and may determine that the resolved network address conflicts with another network address. The DNS server may determine a substitute network address, provide the edge computing device with information for translating the substitute network address into the resolved network address, and provide the substitute network address to the client computing device. The edge computing device may receive the substitute network address from the client computing device, translate the substitute network address into the resolved network address of the recipient computing device, and send network data from the client computing device to the recipient computing device.

  • Patent number: 10757068
Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and software for operating content delivery networks are provided herein. In one example, a method of operating a domain name translation node in a first point-of-presence of a content delivery network is presented. The method includes receiving a translation message issued by an end user device for translation of a domain name into a content network address, and processing the translation message to identify a network address of a node that transferred the translation message. The method also includes selecting the content network address based at least in part on correlations between network addresses and performance factors to direct the end user device to a target cache node at a point-of-presence different than the point-of-presence of the domain name translation node, and transferring a response message indicating the content network address which directs the end user device to the target cache node at the second point-of-presence.

  • Patent number: 10721328
Abstract: To provide a client with access to an API available from a provider, a request is received from a marketplace to subscribe to the API, responsive to the client selecting the API from a catalog of the marketplace. A subscriber identifier, which is uniquely associated with the request by the client to subscribe to the selected API, is generated. An authorization record is created within a proxy; it indicates that a request by the client to invoke the API received by the proxy should be forwarded to the provider from which the API is available if the request to invoke the API includes the subscriber identifier. The generated subscriber identifier and an address of the proxy are provided to the marketplace. Thus, the client is configured to invoke the API by sending a request including the subscriber identifier to the address of the proxy.
