  • Patent number: 9516914
Abstract: The subject of the patent application is a self-closing ventilation insert for ventilating textiles, shoes or articles made up of at least two air-permeable layers, an absorber layer arranged between the air permeable layers, coverings above the air-permeable layers and at least one protective element. The absorber arranged in the chambers of the ventilation insert swells when it absorbs moisture and thereby closes the chambers of the ventilation insert to make them impermeable to water and air. When the ventilation insert is dried, the chambers open and become permeable to air again. Furthermore, a method of producing the ventilation insert by injection molding is described. The ventilation insert according to the invention may be used in a wide variety of areas, both in the clothing sector and in technical areas.

  • Patent number: 9475259
Abstract: A composite material has a polymeric upper layer which is connected via at least one adhesive layer to a substrate. The substrate is predominantly or entirely formed by an open-cell polyurethane foam onto which the upper layer, containing between 2 and 12 wt % of polysiloxane, is bonded by an adhesive layer. An intermediate layer or a double layer, i.e. a composite of the intermediate layer with a bonding layer located between the substrate and the intermediate layer, is provided between the upper layer and the substrate as the adhesive layer for joining the upper layer and the substrate. The regions of the substrate into which the polyurethane dispersion of the adhesive layer has penetrated in a controlled manner during application have a density which is between 12% and 48%, above the density of the regions of the substrate without the adhesive layer.

  • Patent number: 9473459
Abstract: A resin-rich peel ply that does not leave behind residual fibers after peeling and can work well with different resin-based composite substrates. The resin-rich peel ply is composed of a woven fabric impregnated with a resin matrix different from the resin matrix of the composite substrate. The peel ply is designed such that, upon manual removal of the peel ply from the composite substrate's surface, a thin film of the peel ply resin remains on the composite substrate's surface to create a bondable surface capable of bonding with another composite substrate, but no fibrous material from the woven fabric remains on the same surface.

  • Patent number: 9434143
Abstract: An extensible laminar material 100 includes an extensible layer 106 coupled to at least one laminar layer 102, 104. The extension of the extensible layer 106 starting from a non-extended condition determines the extension of the laminar layer(s) 102, 104 while the return of the extensible layer 106 toward the non-extended condition determines the pulling of the laminar layer(s) 102, 104 into a wrinkled condition. The extensible layer 106 and at least one laminar layer 102, 104 are connected by welding to avoid their detachment. The extensible layer 106 is anchored to at least one laminar layer 102, 104 by lines of spread adhesive 108, 108?. The welded connection is absent in correspondence of the lines of spread adhesive 108, 108?. Preferably, the material is in the form of a web 100 extensible transversally to the longitudinal extension of the web with the lines of spread adhesive 108, 108? extending along the sides of the web.

  • Patent number: 9301557
Abstract: A heat pipe material suitable for making wearable garments is disclosed. The material has a sandwich structure including a conduction layer, a separation layer, a wick layer and an insulating layer. The conduction layer is made of discs of a rigid, thermal conducting material connected by a flexible, impermeable material. The separation layer is flexible, porous to gas and maintains a separation between the outer layers. The wick layer transfers a working fluid by capillary action. The insulating layer is the outer skin of the garment made from the heat pipe material and is flexible, impermeable to air and has a low thermal conductance. To create a functioning heat pipe, the material is sealed about its periphery and contains a working fluid. A thermal source is functionally connected to the working fluid. The heat pipe garment help maintains a wearer's body temperature close to 37 degrees Celsius.
