  • Patent number: 9784794
Abstract: A parameter estimation device using a filter includes a preprocessing computing circuit, a state estimating circuit and a state-of-charge estimating circuit. A low-pass filter of the preprocessing computing circuit transfers the voltage preprocessing value and the current preprocessing value from inputted discharge-and-charge current value and terminal voltage value, respectively. The state estimating circuit estimates parameters of a state equation of a battery equivalent model based on the battery equivalent model containing a resistance and a capacitor from the voltage preprocessing value and the current preprocessing value inputted. The state-of-charge estimating circuit estimates the state of charge from state quantity obtained. The time constant varies in such a way that the higher the temperature and the state of charge becomes the smaller the time constant becomes.

  • Patent number: 9719967
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structural health monitoring system, for example a system used in the non-destructive evaluation of an aircraft structure. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for evaluating one or more anomalies within a structure using a structural health monitoring system that includes at least three transducers arranged in operative contact with the structure such that no two transducers are aligned to be parallel. A transducer excites an elastic wave that propagates through the structure, and reflections from any anomalies within the structure are collected by the three transducers. These collected signals are analyzed to identify an anomaly within the structure. Time of flight techniques are used to determine the location of the anomaly.

  • Patent number: 9568390
Abstract: Embodiments of systems and methods that can filter acoustic energy from sources remote from the valve. These embodiments utilize signals from sensors that manifest acoustic energy from various locations on and/or about the valves. In one embodiment, the system includes sensors at locations proximate the valve and locations spaced apart from the valve. The system can further process the signals from these locations and, in one example, combines samples of data to form an energy signature of the valve that is effectively free of noise that emanates from upstream and/or downstream of the valve.
