Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of systems, methods, and programs embodied in computer readable mediums for facilitating the purchase involving digital content items by purchasing parties for other recipients. For example, a server may be employed to encode at least one network page that facilitates a purchase involving a digital content item in an electronic commerce system by a first party to be delivered via a network to a destination device of a second party. The electronic commerce system may also initiate a disposition of the digital content item via the network with respect to the second party upon a consummation of the purchase by the first party.

Abstract: A secure pre-recorded medium and a method for descrambling encrypted content thereon. When a player wants to access the content, a secure processor on the medium verifies that the player has not been revoked, preferably by comparing an identity of the player with identities in a revocation list, after which a mutual authentication is performed. The secure processor then verifies that the player has the rights to access the content and provides the player with the key necessary to descramble the content, whereafter the player descrambles the content.

Abstract: Secure transactions are achieved over a public network by using a private network to handle the sensitive information of the transaction. When a client requests a product from a vendor server over a public network, the vendor server notifies a facilitation server on the public network. This results in the client receiving a set of computer readable instructions from the facilitation server. The set of instructions provide access instructions to a transaction server system on the private network so that sensitive transaction information is sent to the transaction server system on the private network rather than over the public Internet. Where the sensitive information is credit card information, the transaction server system may obtain authorization for the transaction from a financial institution and then notify the vendor accordingly.
