Abstract: A supplemental support for infant carrier handle has top and bottom clamshells and a retention strap assembly. An upper arm support and a safety lanyard assembly can also be incorporated. In order to install the supplemental support on an infant carrier handle, the retention strap is initially tightened over the handle. Once the retention strap is initially snug, the user can push the bottom clamshell upwards towards the top clamshell, hinging the supplemental support into a closed configuration. Because of the unique function of the clamshell hinge, the hinging action tightens the retention strap even further upon closing. The bottom and top clamshells can then lock together. The supplemental support for infant carrier handle is thereby securely locked onto the infant carrier's handle and the user can simply place the bottom clamshell on his or her forearm and proceed to securely and comfortably carry the infant carrier.

A second mounting structure connected to the breakaway lever such that the second mounting structure is movable relative to the receptacle base. The second mounting structure is adapted to be engaged by the associated hinge arm. A breakaway latch is connected to the base and includes a cam follower engaged with the cam edge. The breakaway latch further includes a spring that biases the cam follower into abutment with the cam edge. The breakaway lever is selectively movable from a first position where the cam follower is engaged with a first location on the cam edge to a second position where the cam follower is engaged with a second location on the cam edge.

Abstract: A wheel pad for moving an object across a surface having non-planar obstructions to allow movement of the object across the surface. The wheel pad has a contact pad and a load bearing assembly. The contact pad has an outer skin enclosing a fluid and a torus bearing. The torus bearing has a plurality of bearings, with each adjacent bearing rotatably joined by a connector that allows the bearings to independently rotate. The load bearing assembly has a load transfer mechanism and a load transfer device. The load transfer mechanism has a plurality of recirculating bearings moveably positioned inside a ball chamber. The load transfer device interacts with, but moves independently of, the load transfer mechanism to transfer the weight of the object to the contact pad, which weight is transferred to a lower surface thereof by the fluid and torus bearing to provide omnidirectional movement for the wheel pad.

Abstract: A continuous hinge comprises a first leaf and a second leaf each defining a longitudinal channel, a plurality of barrels defining bores open at each end, each of the barrels including a flange configured to be received in the channels of the first leaf or the second leaf, fasteners attaching the flanges of the barrels in the channels of the first and second leafs, wherein the barrels may be placed end-to-end for axially aligning the bores of the barrels, and a pivot pin extending through the bores of the barrels. The pivot pin is coextensive with the barrels for joining the barrels and the first and second leaves for relative pivoting movement about the pivot pin. The barrels attached to the first leaf are interspersed between the barrels attached to the second leaf in alternating relationship.
