Abstract: An electrode-less lamp equipment with higher luminance by higher lamp-cooling efficiency wherein the airflow generated by the blower 9 goes through the ventilation hole 12 and spouts out from the open end of the lamp-cooling nozzle 15 and cools the surface of the electrode-less lamp 1 is provided. The velocity of the airflow is accordingly high around the lamp surface enough to efficiently cool the lamp. This makes it possible to raise the input power density to the lamp and to increase luminance.
Abstract: A photonics sensor and array for the reception and processing of RF signals. In one embodiment, the present invention is an antenna comprising: a first electro-optically active optical waveguide; a first planar electrode substantially parallel to the first waveguide; a second electro-optically active optical waveguide; a second planar electrode substantially parallel to the second waveguide, the first and second planar electrodes being substantially adjacent and coplanar; and a third planar electrode substantially parallel to the first and second planar electrodes and disposed such that the first waveguide lies between the first and third planar electrodes, and the second waveguide lies between the second and third planar electrodes.
Abstract: An electron source includes a plurality of electron emitting devices arranged in a matrix, and an image forming apparatus uses the electron source. Each of the row-direction wirings of the electron source is selected sequentially and a scan signal is applied thereto, and in synchronization of the scan signal, a modulation signal corresponding to an image signal is applied to the column-direction wiring. The row- and column-direction wirings of the electron source are connected by a connection cable having an impedance substantially equal to a characteristic impedance of a driving area of the electron source, thereby preventing signal ringing in the inputted scan signals and modulation signals. In place of the connection cable, a damping resistance having a resistance value substantially equal to the characteristic impedance may be connected in serial to each of the column- or row-direction wirings, to prevent the signal ringing.
