The primary pulley and the secondary pulley have a ratio of diameters for optimal current generation at moderately steady voltage. The centrifugal clutch disengages the secondary pulley when the vehicle goes into reverse. The grounded magneto produces alternating current transformed and inverted to direct current suitable for the vehicle's battery.
