Abstract: Scanning cycle synchronization of a multicast service in a broadband wireless access system is provided. Multicast group information of a multicast group to which a Mobile Station (MS) belongs is received at the MS from an application server. A scanning cycle pattern and a scan offset of a multicast service corresponding to the multicast group are determined. A scanning cycle of the multicast is set according to the scanning cycle pattern and the scan offset. Scanning and reception of multicast data are performed according to the scanning cycle.

  • Patent number: 9236967
Abstract: Methods of packet-based synchronization in non-stationary network environments can include accumulating timestamps transmitted in packets between master and slave devices that are separated from each other by a packet network. Operations are also performed to determine whether first timestamps accumulated in a first direction across the packet network demonstrate that a first packet delay variation (PDV) sequence observed from the first timestamps is stationary. Thereafter, estimates of at least one of frequency skew and phase offset between the master and slave clocks are acquired using a first algorithm, from the first timestamps accumulated in the first direction. These operations of determining further include determining whether second timestamps accumulated in a second direction demonstrate that a second packet delay variation (PDV) sequence observed from the second timestamps is stationary.

  • Patent number: 9167593
Abstract: An apparatus that includes a base-band input port and a processor and a method for operating the same are disclosed. The base-band input port receives digital base-band communications including a plurality of communication channels utilized in communications between an RF module and a plurality of user equipment (UE) in a cell serviced by that RF module. The processor demodulates specific channels in the digital base-band communications and extracts therefrom information specifying a unique identity for each of the UEs and a temporary identification used for communicating with that UE. The processor also extracts scheduling information identifying when one of the UEs is scheduled to upload information to the RF module and the communication channels over which the information is to be uploaded. The processor does not demodulate others of the communication channels.

  • Patent number: 9155010
Abstract: Methods and arrangements for autonomous handover are provided. In a step, a mobile terminal sends a measurement report to a first network node. In another step, the mobile terminal starts a timer for measuring a wait period. In a further step, the mobile terminal waits until the wait period has expired. In still another step, the mobile terminal measures a signal used for mobility evaluations from the first radio network node. In yet another step, the mobile terminal performs random access to the second radio network node, if appropriate. Furthermore, the first radio network node sends information about random access channel (RACH) characteristics. Moreover, the first radio network node may send the wait period to the mobile terminal. In another step, the first radio network node sends the terminal context to neighbouring radio network nodes.

  • Patent number: 9125198
Abstract: A wireless communication base station device, terminal device, and method have reduced signaling while maintaining high scheduling gain. A judgment unit pre-stores a correspondence between the number of code words and the number of clusters to reduce the maximum value for the number of clusters allocated to each terminal as the number of code words increases, and thus determines the maximum value for the number of clusters based on the number of code words acquired. Based on the number of code words for a transmission signal from a terminal, an estimated value for the reception quality, and the maximum value for the number of clusters that is output by the judgment unit, a scheduling unit schedules the allocation of the transmission signal transmitted by each terminal to a transmission band frequency (frequency resource) so as not to exceed the maximum value for the number of clusters.
