  • Patent number: 6557899
Abstract: The releasable plug coupling is used for connecting fluid lines, particularly, fuel lines of motor vehicles. The plug coupling comprises a tubular plug-in part (3) with an annular retaining lip (4) as well as a coupling housing (1) with a cylindrical receiving space (2) for inserting the plug-in part (3) and a separate retaining element (7) with elastic retaining edges (11) that project radially into the receiving space (2) and that grip behind the retaining lip (4) after the plug-in part (3) is inserted into the receiving space (2). The retaining edges (11) are attached to support bodies (12) that are connected at their ends by elastic connecting pieces (14) that form a V to pressure plates (15). These plates extend outwards through corresponding openings (16) in the housing wall (17) and are pressed together from the outside for releasing the coupling.

  • Patent number: 6554322
Abstract: A mechanism for attaching a gas controller to a water heater includes a shank that is longitudinally received in a spud attached to the water heater. O-rings serve to form a water tight seal between the interior surface of the spud and the exterior surface of the shank. Slots formed in the spud and a groove formed in the shank allow the two components to be axially locked to one another with the insertion of a retainer spring clip. The spring clip is readily removable to allow the two components to be separated without the destruction of any components.

  • Patent number: 6550816
Abstract: A grout vent for a tendon-receiving duct having a tubular fitting with an interior passageway, a nut secured around an exterior surface of the tubular fitting, and a seal extending around the tubular fitting and residing against a surface of the nut. The tubular fitting has a connector at an end thereof for engaging an interior surface of the duct. The tubular fitting extends through a hole formed in a corrugation of the duct so that a shoulder of the connector will abut an interior surface of a wall of the duct. The nut is threadedly engaged with an exterior surface of the tubular fitting so as to exert a compressive force against the seal. A grout line extends through the interior passageway of the tubular fitting so as to allow grout to be injected into an interior passageway of the duct.

  • Patent number: 6550820
Abstract: A connection arrangement is provided for a mineral-insulated conduit with two ends to at least one tube-shaped structure, wherein at least one end is arranged partially overlapping with a tube-shaped structure and is affixed by welding or soldering, and wherein a sheath surface is arranged in the region of the overlap. The problem results of making available a connection arrangement for a mineral-insulated conduit to a tube-shaped structure, which is simple to produce and mechanically stable. The problem is solved in that the sheath surface has a structured surface, the end of the mineral-insulated conduit and the tube-shaped structure contact each other on all sides in the region of the overlap, and the contact surface is smaller than the sheath surface beyond the contact surface.

  • Patent number: 6547285
Abstract: An arrangement for installing a sanitary fitting contains a concealed tank with passage openings to be fitted in a wall and within which can be fitted a fitting body. The connection between the fitting body and the concealed tank takes place exclusively with the aid of connecting elements made from a soundproofing material and through which pass the passage openings of the concealed tank. There is no direct contact between the concealed tank and the fitting body. Different fittings can be screwed to the fitting body. The connecting elements can be simultaneously used for the passage of water pipes.

  • Patent number: 6543812
Abstract: A self-locking quick release coupler includes a handle and a lever. The first distal end of the handle is adapted to be secured to a side face of the groove adapter. The handle has a head formed on the first distal end thereof. The head is extendable into a side face of the groove adapter so as to secure a tube inserted into the groove adapter. The lever partially extends through the handle to be pivotably received in the handle. The lever has a hook formed on a first distal end of the lever to adapt to hook a pin of the groove adapter and a press formed on a second distal end of the lever. The pivotable movement of the lever allows the hook of the lever to selectively hook the pin so as to secure the handle relative to the groove adapter.

  • Patent number: 6540266
Abstract: A cylindrical workpiece (20) is mounted onto and connected to a mandrel (14) that is itself mounted for rotation about a vertical axis (12). A first end portion of the workpiece (20) is housed within the mandrel (14). A second end portion-projects axially outwardly beyond a radial forming surface (60) on the mandrel (14). A first forming roller (30) is mounted on a swing post (52) that is positioned by an adjustable length strut (56). The strut (56) is elongated to swing the post (52) downwardly and place the roller (30) inside the second end portion of-the workpiece (20). Then, a lead screw (28) is used for pulling on a base (50) that supports the post (52). This pulls a convex face portion (32) of the roller (30) against the inside of the second end portion of the workpiece (20). Lead screw operation moves the roller (30), causing it to stretch the second end portion of the workpiece (20) and move it up onto and then move it radially outwardly along the forming surface (60).

  • Patent number: 6536808
Abstract: A joint of a soft tube comprises a tube joint, an inner sleeve, and an outer sleeve. The inner sleeve is inserted into the soft tube and then the soft tube is inserted into the outer sleeve; then the connecting end of the tube joint is inserted into the soft tube. Next, by a hand tool clamping the actuating ring to rotate the tube joint, the connecting end of the tube joint is screwed into the inner threaded hole of the inner sleeve. The connecting end will cause the section of the inner sleeve having slots to expand outwards. As a result, the corresponding wall of the soft tube will expand and thereby deform so as to tightly resist against the enlarged end of the outer sleeve. Thereby, radial and axially connecting forces are formed, the soft tube can be firmly and tightly secured to the tube joint.

  • Patent number: 6530603
Abstract: A self-covering element for covering a pipe joint comprising of a deformable, hollow insulating element having a first portion and a second portion attached at an angle to one another. A longitudinal slit runs the length of the first and second portions, and a pressure sensitive adhesive with a removable release film is adhered to the longitudinal slit. The deformable insulating element allows for the entry of the pipe joint through the longitudinal slit, and surrounds the pipe joint. The pressure sensitive adhesive then seals the longitudinal slit and the pipe joint into the hollow cavity once the release film is removed.

  • Patent number: 6523862
Abstract: A tubing connector for synthetic or composite tubing includes an integral crimp ring. The crimp ring permitting the tubing connector to be rotated in the tubing after the crimp ring is crimped. The integral crimp ring simplifies and facilitates installation of the tubing connector and ensures accurate crimping for more consistent results and fewer leaky connections. A reaming tool enlarges and bevels the open end of the tubing to facilitate the insertion of the tubing connector into the tubing. The reaming tool has a guide screw so that the open end of the tubing is automatically drawn towards cutters on the tool when the guide screw is rotated in the tubing. The advantage is a perfect bevel and an accurate expansion with very little effort.
