  • Patent number: 9107080
Abstract: Methods and systems for auto coexistence priority selection for a SCO link are disclosed. Aspects of one method may include a first Bluetooth device communicating with a collocated WLAN device via a coexistence method. The first Bluetooth device, prior to executing a non-SCO task, which may comprise tasks that do not involve SCO packet transfer, may communicate low priority via the coexistence method if a Bluetooth SCO link is present between the first Bluetooth device and a second Bluetooth device, and if a current task being handled by the first Bluetooth device is a high priority task. If a SCO link is not present between the first and second Bluetooth devices, and if the current non-SCO task is a high priority task, the first Bluetooth device may communicate high priority via the coexistence method prior to executing the non-SCO task.

  • Patent number: 9071359
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangement in a wireless communication system, e.g. an evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network, for improved scheduling and admission control of the uplink by providing an improved determining of power-related quantities, e.g. neighbor cell interference levels, for specific tones and providing more accurate determination of noise-related quantities, e.g. noise floor power estimates, for specific tones. The method and arrangement obtains a neighbor cell interference measure for each subset of tones from at least a noise floor measure for each subset of tones based on combined power quantities from the total uplink power per subset of tones and dividing said noise floor measure into sub noise floor measures for each subset of tones, said dividing dependent on the bandwidth of each subset of tones.

  • Patent number: 9002276
Abstract: In an image providing apparatus capable of performing close-proximity wireless communication, it is determined whether or not the image providing apparatus come to an active state by moving close to the image output apparatus (whether or not the apparatus has been remotely woken up) if a connection through close-proximity wireless communication is established. It is decided that the image output apparatus is the primary controller after the connection if the image providing apparatus has been remotely woken up, and the use of an appropriate protocol for the primary controller is decided on. On the other hand, if the image providing apparatus has not been remotely woken up, it is decided that the image providing apparatus is the primary controller after connection, and the use of a corresponding protocol is decided on.

  • Patent number: 8892049
Abstract: Handheld electronic devices are provided that contain wireless communications circuitry. The wireless communications circuitry may include an antenna. A radio-frequency coupler may be coupled to the antenna. Transceiver circuitry may be used to transmit and receive radio-frequency signals through the coupler and the antenna. A reflected power detection circuit may be connected to the coupler. When the transceiver circuitry transmits radio-frequency signals, some of the signals are reflected back from the antenna into the coupler. The coupler directs the reflected antenna signals into the reflected power detection circuit. Processing circuitry may analyze a reflected power signal from the reflected power detection circuit to determine whether operation of the antenna is being disrupted by the placement of a user's hand over the antenna or other proximity effects. If antenna operation is being disrupted, the user may be alerted or other suitable actions may be taken.
