    Abstract: A sanitizer composition comprisinga) an amine oxide having the formula: ##STR1## wherein the R.sub.1 groups are independently selected from C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or alkoxy groups and R.sub.2 is a branched chain C.sub.11 -C.sub.16 alkyl group, andb) a quaternary ammonium compound having the formula: ##STR2## wherein the R.sub.3 groups are independently selected from C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or alkoxy groups and the R.sub.4 groups are C.sub.8 -C.sub.16 linear or branched alkyl groups wherein at least one of the R.sub.4 groups is a branched C.sub.8 -C.sub.16 alkyl group, and X is chloride, bromide, iodide, carbonate or alkylcarboxylate having a C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl radical, and the use thereof.
