Patent number: 4742200Abstract: For cocking an energy accumulator, an actuating device comprises a ratchet wheel with teeth as well as a reciprocating transport ratchet. For maintaining the cocked position of the energy accumulator, a cam wheel and blocking lever which can be braced against a blocking member via a ratchet lever are provided. Due to a wedge-like cooperation between a working surface of the cam wheel and a projection of the blocking lever, the blocking lever is transferred from its rest position into a blocked position if the deadcenter position of the cam wheel is exceeded. In the process, the transport ratchet is lifted from the teeth of the ratchet wheel by means of a striking surface of the blocking lever.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1986Date of Patent: May 3, 1988Assignee: Siemens AktienfesellschaftInventors: Ulrich Marquardt, Ralf Seebold

Patent number: 4723695Abstract: A support for a fish landing net comprises a pouch of such size as to accommodate the net and having a mouth through which the net may pass into and out of the pouch. The mouth constantly is maintained in an open position by a stiffeningmember. The pouch may be permanently or removably secured to the back of a fisherman's garment.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1986Date of Patent: February 9, 1988Inventor: Hugh A. Farber

Patent number: 4687033Abstract: In a coaxial hose system for a fuel distribution system, a product delivery hose is centrally located within a vapor recovery hose, whereby the area between the product and vapor hoses provides a return path for vapors developed at a nozzle during refueling of a vehicle. A venturi pump is located in the product hose, and operable over a range of flow rate of the fuel through the product hose, for sucking fuel back into the product hose from an area of the vapor path where fuel may accumulate due to backflow from the nozzle, thereby substantially insuring a clear vapor path and more complete delivery of metered fuel.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1986Date of Patent: August 18, 1987Assignee: Gilbarco, Inc.Inventors: Roger W. Patent number: 4496813Abstract: An illumination type push button switch wherein a switch mechanism and an illuminant such as a light emitting diode are provided interiorly of a casing, a pair of external terminals adapted to supply power to the illuminant to light the same are supported on a base plate detatchably supported on said casing. An electronic circuit is formed on the base plate so that the circuit may be interposed in the electric connection between the illuminant and the external terminals, thereby rendering miniaturization of the switch possible and facilitating handling of the same.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 1983Date of Patent: January 29, 1985Assignee: Sun Dengyosha Company, LimitedInventor: Toshitsugi Fukushima

Patent number: 4458124Abstract: A three-position toggle switch having a transparent toggle lever (28) illuminated in its natural color in the center position and illuminated in second and third colors in its respective left and right positions. Molded color filters (32, 34) are structurally attached to the interior end of the lever by dovetail slots (28k, 28m) and dovetail ribs (32b, 34b) and are retained thereon by confinement within the interior switch cavity (2a). The filters (32, 34) have offset legs (32a, 32b) depending toward a lamp (8) in the switch base (2) to reflect or redirect light rays from the lamp (8) to enhance color separation while permitting an inexpensive, unfocused lamp to be utilized.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 1982Date of Patent: July 3, 1984Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Neil W. Patent number: 4408111Abstract: A switch machine which is connected by two throw rods to the respective switch points to be operated includes an internal locking arrangement which includes two holding elements pivotally mounted on the respective throw rods and accommodated between a sliding member and a displacement member of the switch machine which are disengageably connected to one another. Each of the holding elements has a free end which is enlarged by two tongues respectively extending toward the sliding member and the casing of the switch machine. Depending on the position of the sliding member, the tongues are received in the associated recesses in the sliding member or in the casing to thereby either lock the throw rods in their positions relative to the casing or to entrain the same for movement with the sliding member.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 1981Date of Patent: October 4, 1983Assignee: International Standard Electric CorporationInventors: Gerold Domhan, Franz Hartl, Kurt Vogelgsang

Patent number: 4392036Abstract: A low-voltage circuit breaker has a locking lever to prevent transfer of the circuit breaker handle entirely into its "off" position if the movable contact is blocked in its "on" position by being welded to the fixed contact. The locking lever is rotatably mounted on the control shaft, which is pivotally moved by a drive lever which is connected to the control shaft by a toggle lever system including two toggle levers and a toggle hinge pin joining them together. The fork arms embrace a working surface on the drive lever and the toggle hinge pin. The working surface and the hinge pin are spaced closer together than the arms when the circuit breaker handle is in its "on" position to allow only partial movement of the handle toward its "off" position unless the movable contact is free to move to its "off" position before the locking lever pivots to a position in which it engages both the working surface and the toggle hinge pin. The locking lever can be formed as a double lever with a connecting web.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 1981Date of Patent: July 5, 1983Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Werner Troebel, Martin Bottcher

Patent number: 4389550Abstract: A safety device for power control in various situations. A housing contains an electrical toggle-type switch which is connected in circuit with the power source and the various elements to be controlled. A depression of a first push-button of relatively small size causes a switch to be turned on, while a subsequent depression of a relatively large surface member pivotally secured to the housing causes the toggle switch to be turned off. A key-operated lock prevents unauthorized operation of the first push-button.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 1981Date of Patent: June 21, 1983Inventor: John J. Reiter

Patent number: 4383149Abstract: A push-button switch wherein a spring loaded plunger (22) is carried by a push-button operator (4) along a surface of a rocking contactor (20) across the plane of the support contact (16) for the contactor (20) to rock that contactor into and out of engagement with stationary contacts (12, 14). A U-shaped conductive bearing (18) is mounted over the end of the support contact (16) to provide a uniformly smooth pivot and current transfer surface for the contactor (20). The plunger (22) and spring (24) are loaded in a through-hole (4f) in the operator (4) wherein the spring (24) may be compressed just prior to final assembly into a switch housing (2), facilitating assembly operations for the switch.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1982Date of Patent: May 10, 1983Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventor: Edward Fulton
