Abstract: A dietary supplement for nutritionally promoting healthy joint function in human subjects is disclosed. The supplement includes as a major ingredient a protein derived from the enzymatic hydrolysis of collagen in combination with lesser proportions of glucosamine sulfate, ginkgo biloba, borage oil powder, turmeric, boswellia serrata, ashwagandha, piper nigrum extract, and a herbal blend.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to various methods for promoting ovulation, parturition and lactation in female mammals. These benefits are obtained by administering to the mammals a composition containing a D2 receptor antagonist that does not substantially cross the blood brain barrier. In one embodiment, the D2 receptor antagonist is domperidone. The domperidone can be administered to the mammal either orally or subcutaneously and can be used to treat, for instance, anestrous mammals, mammals that have problems bearing offspring and mammals suffering from agalactia. Unexpectedly, it has also been discovered that the D2 receptor antagonist may also stimulate feed intake, causing the mammal to eat more and gain weight faster.
Abstract: The invention related to a composition used in the treatment of keratin substances which contains at least one amphoteric polymer containing units A and B randomly distributed in the polymer chain, where A denotes a unit derived from a monomer containing at least one basic nitrogen atom and B denotes a unit derived from an acid monomer containing one or more carboxyl or sulphonyl groups, or alternatively A and B can denote a cationic polymer chain containing secondary or tertiary amine groups or quaternary ammonium groups, in which chain at least one of the amine groups carries a carboxyl or sulphonyl group joined via a hydrocarbon radical, or alternatively A and B form part of a chain of a polymer with alpha, beta-dicarboxyethylene units, in which one of the carboxyl groups has been reacted with a polyamine containing one or more primary, secondary or tertiary amine groups, and at least one anionic polymer containing one or more carboxyl or sulphonyl groups.

Abstract: 4-Isopropyltropolone having the formula: ##STR1## and/or the fatty acid esters thereof having the formula: ##STR2## (wherein R is a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms) have the excellent skin-beautifying and anti-suntan effects and are usable as active ingredients for the skin-beautifying cosmetics. The fatty acid esters of 4-isopropyltropolone are novel substances.
