Abstract: A base station, in communication with a UE using a first serving cell, determines a need to perform a security update for the UE and sends a command including information to perform the security update and indication of a time to execute the security update to change to a new security configuration. In response to the time occurring, a security update is performed to a new security configuration for use for communication with the UE using a second serving cell. The UE receives the information and the indication and performs, without performing a random-access procedure, the security update to the new security configuration to use for communication with the second serving cell.

Abstract: A system includes a patient support apparatus and a plurality of location transceivers. One of more of the location transceivers are positioned onboard the patient support apparatus and one or more are positioned at fixed locations within the room. The onboard location transceivers determine their location with respect to the off-board location transceivers, or vice versa, and use this location information to determine the position of the tagged medical device with respect to a volume of space. If the tagged medical device is inside the volume of space, a controller may: (a) associate the tagged medical device with the patient support apparatus, a patient, a room identifier, and/or a room bay identifier; (b) allow the tagged medical device to join a communication network, and/or (c) forward data from the tagged medical device to a remotely positioned server.

Abstract: A server may include an electronic processor configured to broadcast an incident alert to a plurality of communication devices within a geographical area associated with an imminent incident, the incident alert including an enrollment feature, receive, via the enrollment feature in response to the incident alert, enrollment notifications from the plurality of communication devices for enrolling the plurality of communication devices in incident response location tracking for the incident, divide the plurality of communication devices into a plurality of location-based clusters based on pre-incident location information of the plurality of communication devices; and rank the plurality of location-based clusters based on location behavior of communications devices within each of the plurality of location-based clusters.

Abstract: An aircraft satellite communications system that communicates using satellite frequency bands. The aircraft satellite communications system comprises a base structure, transmitters, and receivers. The base structure has connectors arranged to correspond to connection points on an aircraft. The transmitters are connected to the base structure. The transmitters are configured to transmit using a first plurality of the satellite frequency bands. The receivers are connected to the base structure. The receivers are configured to receive using a second plurality of the satellite frequency bands. A selected transmitter in the transmitters transmits using a satellite frequency band in the satellite frequency bands is positioned at a distance from a selected receiver in the receivers using the satellite frequency band in the satellite frequency bands on the base structure with a number of other transmitters and receivers located between the selected transmitter and the selected receiver on the base structure.

The method includes receiving a SystemInformationBlock12 in a first cell, initiating sidelink positioning in the first cell if the SystemInformationBlock12 includes a sl-PositioningAllowed field set to a first value, and performing sidelink positioning based on a sidelink positioning resource pool or based on a specific sidelink resource pool. Configuration information of the specific sidelink resource pool includes sl_Pos_Allowed field set to a first value. The SystemInformationBlock12 includes a SL-ConfigCommonNR and a SL_Pos_ConfigCommon. The SL_Pos_ConfigCommon includes a one or more Sl_Pos_ResourcePool IEs.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for redacting documents is provided herein. During operation, a call is received from a caller and an identity of the caller is determined. Electronic paperwork related to a particular incident is retrieved. Witness statements from the caller along with past correspondences of the caller are analyzed to determine the caller's knowledge of the incident. Redaction of the electronic paperwork then takes place based on the caller's knowledge of the incident. In particular, items such as addresses, phone numbers, times, places, . . . , etc. that are potentially unknown to the caller are redacted so that the called party will not inadvertently disclose this information to the caller.
