Abstract: A security band for securing a container containing medication, comprising a hub and a strap, the security band is adapted to secure the container by attaching to the container in a securing position where the hub contacts the lid and the strap wraps around the bottom of the container, preventing access to medication contained within the container unless the security band is released or disturbed. The security band further comprises at least one sensor, which may be pressure switch, a first stretch sensor, or a second stretch sensor, and further comprises a control module. The pressure switch and the first and second stretch sensors detect the occurrence of an access event when the security band is released from the container or disturbed from the securing position. The control module wireless transmits an access alert signal to a user client upon the occurrence of the access event.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring fatigue and notifying an individual are described. The individual may be an operator of a vehicle, equipment, or machine, a student, or other person that may experience fatigue. Motion of the individual is monitored to detect a predescribed motion in response to a stimulus to first determine a base responsiveness profile. Afterwards, a current responsiveness profile is determined based on a prescribed motion in response to a stimulus, and if the current responsiveness profile exceeds a predetermined threshold of the base responsiveness profile, a notification is issued to the individual and, optionally, another person such as an employer, teacher, or parent.

Abstract: Described is a system for estimating measured depth of a borehole. The system comprises a drilling fluid pulse telemetry system positioned in a borehole and processors connected with the drilling fluid pulse telemetry system. Time series measures are obtained from an environmental sensor package. Initial estimates of a time delay and path attenuation amplitude are determined. An error for the initial estimates is determined, and iterative minimization of the error is performed until source signal parameters converge, resulting in a least squares estimate of the source signal and the reflected signals. The least squares estimate is used to obtain time delay values, which are then used to continuously generate an estimate of a measured depth of the borehole.

Abstract: Upon detection of movement or object, the device of the present invention can vibrate, emit a sound, or transmit another signal to a wearer's phone App and/or earbuds/headphones. Depending on settings and preferences, the device (or the App) can cause the device, or even a separate device, to vibrate, emit a custom alarm and/or send a tone to earbuds/earphones/headphones, either through the App or directly from the device, or send another signal. The technology described can also be built into and integrated directly within a cell phone if so desired potentially using the processor, sensor or battery already present within the cell phone. The device uses these communication methods as a means to notify the wearer of an object (person, car, bike, etc.) approaching or moving in the rear or side areas of the wearer.

Abstract: An earpiece assembly has a pair of earpieces, a pair of foldable flex spring members, and a manifold with each foldable flex spring member connecting one of the earpieces to the manifold. A drum assembly has a diaphragm mounted therein and a tube extending therefrom with the diaphragm being particularly adapted to expand and contract in response to pressure changes within a patient when the drum assembly is in proximity to the patient. A stem assembly has a housing, a pressure sensor extending from the housing, a circuit board positioned within the housing, and a light source connected to the circuit board and extending from the housing. The stem assembly connects the manifold to the tube to connect the earpiece assembly to the drum assembly.
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method utilize a micro electronic device implanted in a person or group of persons, or wearable thereby, to manage a variety of activities, including unlocking a locked device. The method includes the steps of providing an RF microdevice having an electronic identification code and attaching the microdevice to a person. An RF lock system is provided to the subject locked device, including an electronically powered lock, an RF reader and a processor. The user brings the microdevice near the reader, whereby the reader communicates with the microdevice via RF signals, and the reader signals the processor to corroborate the identification code. If the processor corroborates the identification code, the processor signals the powered lock to actuate and unlock. If the processor does not corroborate the identification code, the powered lock remains unactuated and locked.

Abstract: A glucose meter with an adjustable alarm and an integral wireless transmitter to send a user a reminder to take a second glucose level measurement. The glucose meter with an alarm features a housing with a display and input buttons connected to a microprocessor. The housing has a slot designed to accept a strip with a sample of blood. A glucose level sensor within the housing is adapted to measure the glucose level of the blood sample. After the measurement is taken, an alarm is set to activate after a predetermined period of the time, reminding a user to take a second glucose level measurement. The alarm can be an auditory or a vibrating alarm. Additionally, the wireless transmitter is designed to send an email or text message to a user as a reminder to take a second glucose level measurement.

Abstract: A transmit (TX) signal path circuit in a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) transceiver responsive to a digital front end (DFE) for generating receive (RX) path phase alignment signals is disclosed. A digital up-conversion block uses a first numerically-controlled oscillator (NCO) for generating digital intermediate frequency (IF) signals for ordinary TX signal generation, and a different, second NCO for generating digital IF signals for RX phase alignment signal generation. An RF up-conversion block uses a TX local oscillator (LO) for generating analog RF signals for ordinary TX signal generation, and a different feedback (FB) LO for generating analog RF signals for RX phase alignment signal generation. Thus, phase alignment of the circuitry used for ordinary TX signal generation is left undisturbed by RX phase alignment signal generation.
Abstract: Disclosed is an emergency detection and response system using LED-lighting modules.
