The information processing apparatus is connected to the control device. The control target device is connected to the information processing apparatus. The control device includes a first unit that receives a first request and transmits a first result of a first processing about the first request to the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus includes a second unit that accepts the first request, transmits the first request to the control device, and receives the first result from the control device, and a third unit that determines whether the received first result includes an instruction to request the control target device to perform a processing, and when it is determined that the first result includes the instruction, requests the control target device to perform the processing.

The unique OID generator generates a unique OID relating to a derived resource via a unique OID generation module. The unique OID includes the printing instructions of the one or more base resources. A resource generator internally generates the derived resource.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus capable of recording user information into an external recording medium, while preventing an occurrence of a security problem. The image processing apparatus generates user information about an image processing job, and determines according to predetermined recording medium categories whether security information can be stored into an external recording medium in a case where the user information is recorded into the external recording medium. When determining that the security information cannot be stored into the external recording medium, the image processing apparatus removes predetermined security information from the user information and records the resultant information into the external recording medium.

Abstract: Subject matter described herein is directed to providing font-rendering information (e.g., XPS file) that is usable to print a document. For example, a font file is received that defines a font type included in the document. A determination is made that a quantity of pages of the document does not exceed a subsetting-optimization threshold. When the quantity of pages does not exceed the threshold, a subsetted font file of the font type is generated. The subsetted file is provided, such as via the spool file, to a print subsystem.

Abstract: For a selected class of functions, which describe most typical banding variations, the average response can be found by sampling at only 2Nth locations, where N is the number of different frequencies of significant banding. This approach makes use of the fact that in most applications the banding frequencies of a given printer system, are known in advance, even if the amplitudes of the banding are not known. Each sample point requires a very small test area or pattern, significantly reducing the overall size of the required test areas.

Abstract: Methods and systems herein provide for the color conversion of image data with various levels of gray values, such as text. Such color conversion includes generating a CMYK conversion model by defining a gray region in the perceptual color space of the image data to convert the gray values of the gray region to a range of K values during CMYK color conversion of the image data and segmenting chroma values in a color lookup table that maps perceptual color values to CMYK color values. Lightness values in the color lookup table are adjusted using a perceptual model (e.g., a Heimholtz-Kohlrausch Effect model) based on the segmented chroma values to substantially maintain a lightness relationship between the gray values of the image data and the remaining color values of the image data. The image data is the converted to a CMYK color space using the generated CMYK conversion model.
