  • Patent number: 9832030
Abstract: An approach is described for routing data to a plurality of output terminals via a integrated switch router including a crossbar switch having both a crossbar and a plurality of crossbar bypass lines. Whereas the crossbar may connect each input of the crossbar switch to each output of the crossbar switch, each of the plurality of crossbar bypass lines may connect a single input of the crossbar switch to a corresponding single output of the crossbar switch. According to such approach, a replicated copy of a multicast packet may be forwarded to an output terminal via a crossbar bypass line in parallel with other data forwarded via the crossbar, thus increasing integrated switch router bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 9350428
Abstract: A method of link adaptation performed by an access point supporting multi user(MU) multiple input multiple output(MIMO) in wireless local area network system is provided. The method includes transmitting, to a first station, a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) containing a modulation and coding scheme(MCS) request(MRQ) and receiving, from the first station, a MCS feedback(MFB) in response to the MRQ, wherein the first station is one of destination stations of MU-MIMO transmission performed by the access point, and the MFB includes a recommended MCS value computed, by the first station, on the assumption that the first station, as a member of the destination stations, receives data transmitted over at least one spatial stream allocated to the first station in MU-MIMO transmission.

  • Patent number: 9306679
Abstract: In a radio relay station, the channel quality of relay links is measured with the use of sounding reference signals from mobile terminals. Feedback information including the measurement results of the channel quality of the relay links is transmitted to a radio base station via a backhaul link. In the radio base station, the channel quality of the direct links is measured with the use of sounding reference signals from the mobile terminals. A correction value from the measurement results of the channel quality from the radio relay station is subtracted. Radio resources are allocated to a mobile terminal based on the measurement results of the channel quality of the direct links and the subtraction results.

  • Patent number: 9179479
Abstract: A method, system, and non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for providing admission control in a wireless network are provided. The method may include receiving a RACH-Preamble from a mobile device and determining whether a first set of requirements is satisfied for the received RACH-Preamble. The method may further include transmitting a first response to the mobile device when the first set of requirements is satisfied and receiving a RRC connection request from the mobile device after transmitting the first response. The method may further include determining an establishment cause of the RRC connection request and determining whether a second set of requirements corresponding to the establishment cause are satisfied. The method may further include rejecting the RRC connection request when the second set of requirements is not satisfied.

  • Patent number: 9025529
Abstract: A communication terminal is described comprising a determiner configured to determine, for a frequency region, a plurality of first communication devices from which the communication terminal receives a signal via the frequency region; a selector configured to select at least one of the first communication devices based on a predetermined interference criterion; a signal generator configured to generate a signal with an identification of the at least one selected first communication device; and a transceiver configured to transmit the signal to a second communication device, to receive an indication from the second communication device specifying whether the communication terminal should use the frequency region for data communication with the second communication device, and to carry out data communication with the second communication device using the frequency region depending on the indication.

  • Patent number: 8792399
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for phase-rotated reference signals are provided. In accordance with one implementation, phase-rotated reference signals are transmitted from multiple transmit antennas on the same reference signal (RS) resource elements. The receiver may determine channel coefficients for links corresponding to the multiple antennas, based on the received signals at the RS resource elements. Time-domain filtering or frequency-domain orthogonal codes may be used to determine the channel coefficients for links corresponding to the multiple antennas. The phase-rotation information may be broadcasted in a system information block (SIB) message or signaled in a radio resource control (RRC) message.

  • Patent number: 8654690
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to supporting a multicast session in a wireless communications network are provided. A request to register for an announced multicast session (e.g., a push to talk (PTT) session) is sent from an access terminal to an access network. The access terminal has a traffic channel on a first carrier. The access network determines whether the announced multicast session is being carried on the first carrier. The access network transmits a traffic channel assignment message allocating the access terminal a traffic channel on a second carrier if the determining step determines that the given multicast session is not being carried on the first carrier and is being carried on the second carrier. Thus, the access terminal need not send a connection request to be allocated a traffic channel on the second carrier, thereby reducing a channel outage during the carrier switch.
