  • Patent number: 11938214
Abstract: A benefit agent delivery system whereby benefit agents can be delivered on demand and/or a variety of different benefit agents at different concentrations can be delivered from the same system. The benefit agent delivery system includes a microcell layer comprising a plurality of microcells, wherein the microcells are filled with a carrier and a benefit agent. The microcells include an opening, wherein the opening is spanned by a sealing layer comprising a polymer and metallic material. Application of an electric field across the microcell layer and the sealing layer results in the migration of the metallic material from the sealing layer and the creation of a porous sealing layer, allowing the benefit agent to be released from the benefit agent delivery system.

  • Patent number: 11918767
Abstract: Rapidly insertable central catheters (“RICCs”) including catheter assemblies and methods thereof are disclosed. A RICC assembly can include a RICC, an introducer, and a coupling system configured to couple the RICC and the introducer together. A catheter tube of the RICC includes a side aperture in a distal-end portion of the catheter tube, which opens into an introducing lumen extending from the side aperture to a distal end of the RICC. The introducer includes a syringe and an introducer needle having a cannula. The coupling system includes a distal coupler slidably attached to the catheter tube proximal of the side aperture. The cannula extends through a longitudinal through hole of the distal coupler, through the side aperture of the catheter tube, along the introducing lumen of the catheter tube, and through the distal end of the RICC when the RICC assembly is in at least a ready-to-deploy state thereof.

  • Patent number: 11904152
Abstract: A blunt-tipped cannula needle for injection of fluid into a subcutaneous tissue around a vein. The cannula needle includes a tubular side wall having three straight sections, each having a central axis. A second central axis of the central axes is angled away from a first central axis of the central axes at a first preselected angle in a first plane. A third central axis of the central axes is angled away from the second central axis at a combination of a preselected second angle and a preselected third angle, such that the third central axis is effectively angled away from the second central axis both at the second angle in the first plane and at the third angle in a second plane perpendicular to the first plane. A plurality of apertures in a distal end section of the needle that face the second central axis.

  • Patent number: 11806508
Abstract: A fixture for filling a hypodermic syringe includes a vial support and a finger flange support that are substantially coplanar with each other. The vial support holds a vial while the needle of a hypodermic syringe is inserted through the top of the vial. The syringe is then positioned so that the plunger side of one of the finger flanges engages a finger flange support. The finger flange support resists movement of the syringe while the plunger is withdrawn, filling the barrel of the syringe from the vial. The vial and needle are at least partially supported throughout the filling process.

  • Patent number: 11801370
Abstract: A cartridge having a reservoir for fluid, a tower with an interior chamber, wherein the tower has a first end proximate the reservoir, a second end distal the reservoir, a port in the second end of the tower, and an interior for conducing the fluid from the reservoir. A first rib and a second rib extend along a length of the tower, in the interior of the tower. Both the first and second ribs have second ends that are substantially adjacent the second end of the tower, and the first rib has a first end that extends along the length of the tower toward the first end of the tower further than a first end of the second rib. At least one of the first and second ribs at least partially overlaps a first via within the port and is spaced apart from the first via by a gap.
