  • Patent number: 10936866
Abstract: A method for detecting a document fraud is disclosed. A first image of a first document and a second image of a second document are obtained. A procedure of detection of zones sensitive to document frauds are applied in the regions of the first image and of the second image registered on the first image. Each sensitive zone detected is then divided into a plurality of subparts. A measurement of dissimilarity is calculated between corresponding subparts from the first image and the registered second image. It is then determined whether the first document is identical to the second document from measurements of dissimilarity. If the first document is different from the second document, a level of difference is determined between the first and second documents according to a value representing a proportion of different subparts; and a fraud is detected when the level of difference is below a third predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 10929678
Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein provide improvements over existing systems by dynamically controlling communication connections between two or more computing devices based on the detection of specific events. Instead of requiring a device, such as an IoT device, to be continually connected to a network or a remote device, the techniques disclosed herein enable the device to remain offline until a specific event is detected. The disclosed technologies can avoid always-on network configurations while providing a desired functionality for an IoT device. For instance, some devices only connect with other computing devices or at network in response to detection of an event, then disconnect after an exchange of specific information. Such technologies can significantly reduce the power consumption of a device by only invoking connections at appropriate times.

  • Patent number: 10930009
Abstract: A computer-implemented method and system for determining the geographical location of a user based on the characteristics of intersecting features, such as a road intersection. Specifically, the geometry of each intersection in a geographical area is used to derive a unique fingerprint for each individual intersection, the fingerprint comprising information relating to the geometry, the geographical location of the intersection, and other characteristics. These fingerprints can then be stored locally to a device, for example, a mobile phone, a tablet, a wearable computing device, an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system and the like. To determine the geographical location of the device, the geometry of a nearby intersection may be analysed by some means and compared to the stored set of unique fingerprints to identify the intersection and its associated location.

  • Patent number: 10918350
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for generating a medical image is provided. In some embodiments, the medical image is generated by determining a location and an alignment for a first tracking detector with respect to a particle beam system. The direction of a beam generated from the particle beam system is determined. A first position of a first particle from a detected particle hit on the first tracking detector is also determined. A determination is made as to a first residual range of the first particle from a detected particle hit on a residual range detector. The system reconstructs a path for the first particle based on the location, the alignment, the first position, and the first residual range of the first particle. The resulting medical image that is generated by the system is based on the reconstructed path for the first particle.
