  • Patent number: 10558750
Abstract: The technology disclosed presents a novel spatial attention model that uses current hidden state information of a decoder long short-term memory (LSTM) to guide attention and to extract spatial image features for use in image captioning. The technology disclosed also presents a novel adaptive attention model for image captioning that mixes visual information from a convolutional neural network (CNN) and linguistic information from an LSTM. At each timestep, the adaptive attention model automatically decides how heavily to rely on the image, as opposed to the linguistic model, to emit the next caption word. The technology disclosed further adds a new auxiliary sentinel gate to an LSTM architecture and produces a sentinel LSTM (Sn-LSTM). The sentinel gate produces a visual sentinel at each timestep, which is an additional representation, derived from the LSTM's memory, of long and short term visual and linguistic information.

  • Patent number: 10555715
Abstract: An apparatus and method for imaging quality assessment of an imaging system employs an aggregate phantom and a processor for imaging analysis. The aggregate phantom includes a plurality of self-contained sections configured to be moved independently and re-assembled in the imaging system. Each section includes fiducial features of known relative location. The processor: quantitatively determines location of the fiducial features within an image of the aggregate phantom; compares the determined location within the image to the known relative location of the fiducial features to produce a distortion field; and distinguishes between actual geometric distortion of the imaging system and rigid-body transformations of sections of the aggregate phantom, in the distortion field. For extended fields-of-view, the aggregate phantom may be repositioned, and sets of images combined to determine a distortion field of the extended image.

  • Patent number: 10509947
Abstract: Multi-dimensional data can be mapped to a projection shape and converted for image analysis. In some examples, the multi-dimensional data may include data captured by a LIDAR system for use in conjunction with a perception system for an autonomous vehicle. Converting operations can include converting three-dimensional LIDAR data to multi-channel two-dimensional data. Data points of the multi-dimensional data can be mapped to a projection shape, such as a sphere. Characteristics of the projection shape may include a shape, a field of view, a resolution, and a projection type. After data is mapped to the projection shape, the projection shape can be converted to a multi-channel, two-dimensional image. Image segmentation and classification may be performed on the two-dimensional data. Further, segmentation information may be used to segment the three-dimensional LIDAR data, while a rendering plane may be positioned relative to the segmented data to perform classification on a per-object basis.

  • Patent number: 10504201
Abstract: A server includes a hardware platform, a hypervisor platform, and a virtual machine operating as an independent guest computing device. The virtual machine executes a remote graphics generation protocol to generate a bitmap to be transmitted for display on a client machine associated with the virtual machine, determine a protection label to be inserted within the bitmap, and determine an optimization technique to be performed on the bitmap. The remote graphics generation protocol also determines if the optimization technique, if performed, alters the protection label. If yes, then the protection label is inserted within the bitmap without performing the optimization technique. If no, then the optimization technique is performed and the protection label is inserted within the bitmap.
