  • Patent number: 9978231
Abstract: Tamper-respondent assemblies and methods of fabrication are provided which include an inner enclosure, a tamper-respondent sensor(s), a protective wrap(s) and an outer enclosure. The inner enclosure is sized to receive one or more electronic components to be protected, and the tamper-respondent sensor(s) wraps around the inner enclosure. The protective wrap(s) overlies and wraps around the tamper-respondent sensor(s) and inner enclosure, and together the inner enclosure, tamper-respondent sensor(s), and protective wrap(s) form a tamper-respondent subassembly. The outer enclosure receives and surrounds, at least in part, the tamper-respondent subassembly, with the tamper-respondent sensor(s) and protective wrap(s) disposed between the inner enclosure and the outer enclosure. When operative, the inner enclosure, tamper-respondent sensor(s), protective wrap(s) and outer enclosure are coupled together and facilitate conduction of heat from the electronic component(s) out to the outer enclosure.

  • Patent number: 9971013
Abstract: A tracker used to analyze a desired borepath prior to horizontal directional drilling operations. The tracker analyzes an amount of interference present at a plurality of different frequencies at multiple locations along the borepath and maps a plot of the interference at the different frequencies. The lower the point on the plot, the less interference present at that frequency at the location analyzed. The tracker summarizes the overall interference along the desired borepath for the different frequencies analyzed and will recommend a preferred frequency. An operator may program the beacon prior to boring operations to emit a beacon signal at the preferred frequency. The operator may also tune the tracker to receive the preferred frequency. The tracker and beacon may then communicate during boring operations at the preferred frequency in order to detect the position of the beacon underground relative to the tracker.

  • Patent number: 9934486
Abstract: Asset reconciliation is facilitated by dynamically determining and applying a scan context to asset-describing tag data. Tag data representative of assets are received from RFID tags. A working scan context defining a scope of coverage of assets to be included in an asset reconciliation is dynamically determined based on the received tag data. Additional tag data representative of additional assets are received, and the dynamically determined working scan context is applied to the additional tag data to automatically identifying which assets of the additional assets are to be included in the asset reconciliation. Assets included in the scope of coverage of the working scan context are included in the asset reconciliation, and assets not included in the scope of coverage of the working scan context are not included in the asset reconciliation.

  • Patent number: 9924242
Abstract: Given a node of a utility service distribution network, a topology of a subset of the distribution network having the given node as a root node and one or more child nodes branching from the given node is determined. The topology may be determined based on relationships or correlations of utility usage information between the given node and a plurality of potential nodes that are considered in the topology determination. Upon determining the topology associated with the given node, the determined topology may be used to detect fraud and leakage that may occur in the distribution network on a regular basis or upon request. If fraud or leakage is detected in the distribution network, the system may schedule a follow-up and/or field investigation to investigate and fix the fraud or the leakage in the distribution network.

  • Patent number: 9902072
Abstract: A telepresence system includes a man-machine interface and a teleoperator configured to communicate bidirectionally with the man-machine interface via a communications channel. The teleoperator performs actions based on first signals generated due to a manual operation of the man-machine interface and transmitted over the communication channel, and sends second signals to the man-machine interface over a second communication channel. At least one buffer device buffers signals transferred through the communication channel and releases the signals delayed so that the signals coming from the man-machine interface and the signals coming from the teleoperator each are transmitted through the communication channel with an effective constant time delay.
