Abstract: An apparatus for encoding frames of a sequence of source frames of video image data to be encoded. The apparatus includes encoding circuitry configured to encode the source frames using reference frames. The apparatus also includes monitoring circuitry configured to, when the encoding circuitry is encoding a source frame using one or more reference frames, monitor the memory bandwidth being used when using the one or more reference frames when encoding the source frame. The apparatus further includes encoding circuitry that is operable to, in response to the monitored memory bandwidth being greater than a threshold, to control the encoding circuitry to encode a subsequent part of the source frame using a modified video encoding process to restrict the memory bandwidth usage when using one or more reference frames when encoding a subsequent part of a source frame.

  • Patent number: 10909708
Abstract: A calibration system for a dimensioner is described. The calibration system uses a reference pattern with multiple optically-perceptible elements. The optically-perceptible elements have a parameter associated with size and are separated from each other by predefined distance. The dimensioner captures an image of an object and calculates physical dimensions of the object. The dimensioner captures an image of the reference pattern. The dimensioner measures the parameter associated with size for a pair of optically-perceptible elements and measures the distance between the pair of optically-perceptible elements from the captured image. The dimensioner then calculates a ratio between measured parameter for the pair of the optically-perceptible elements and of a predefined distance between the pair of the optically-perceptible elements. The calculated ratio is compared with a actual reference ratio to determine if calibration is needed. The dimensioner is calibrated based on the calculated ratio.

  • Patent number: 10904550
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for video encoding/decoding. In some examples, an apparatus for video decoding includes receiving circuitry and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information is indicative of an affine based motion vector prediction. The processing circuitry determines a first affine model for the current block. The first affine model has first affine parameters. Then, the processing circuitry determines a second affine model for a first clipping region in the current block. The second affine model has second affine parameters with differences to the first affine parameters being smaller than a threshold. Motion vectors determined based on the second affine model satisfy a clipping requirement. The processing circuitry reconstructs a sample in the first clipping region based on the second affine model.
