  • Patent number: 4770464
Abstract: The articulation member comprises asymetrically guided bearing plates. A fixed flange is shaped in order to support, by means of sectors, sliding bearing plates having an upper toothing pitch corresponding to pitch of a toothing of a movable flange. The bearing plates are normally pushed back from the toothing by elastic means and have positions which are angularly shifted for two of them and submitted to bias of control means such as a cam. An angular shift of two of the bearing plates is of 120.degree.-.alpha./3 (=240.degree.-2/3.alpha.) with for complement 120.degree.+2/3.alpha., .alpha.being an angle forming a pitch for each tooth of the toothed ring and teeth of the bearing plates.

  • Patent number: 4768827
Abstract: A seat assembly for vehicles such as automobiles or passenger trains comprises a child-sized seat which is shiftable between an extended position for use atop an adult-sized chair, and a retracted position recessed within a chamber of the adult chair when use of the latter is instead desired. The child seat is comprised of a molded, generally U-shaped base and back which are pivotally interconnected to enable the child seat to assume a low profile, folded disposition when the child seat is recessed within the chamber of the adult chair. A cushioned panel, pivotally coupled to the back of the adult chair, rests on the folded child seat when the latter is in its retracted, non-use position for comfortable support of an adult using the adult chair. A lever mechanism and guide track arrangement provide proper movement of the child seat between its extended position for use and its recessed, non-use position.

  • Patent number: 4768831
Abstract: Arrangement for an operator's seat with a foot control for a working machine which can be operated by an operator, the operation of which occurs through the adjustment of the foot control (30) to different angular positions. The foot control acts as a support for at least one of the operator's feet during work and is connected to the seat unit (5) of the operator's seat in such a way that the foot control is connected to the seat unit and is so arranged as to accompany it as it moves. The movements of the seat unit and the accompanying foot control are determined by a guide arrangement connected to the operator's seat, which guide arrangement permits the movement of the operator's seat towards and away from the working machine between different positions for varying the distance between the operator and the working machine without affecting the position of the foot control relative to the seat unit through the aforementioned movements.

  • Patent number: 4766815
Abstract: This invention relates to the design of marshalling yard with up-grade speed control system. The principal difference between this yard and the conventional marshalling yard with down-grade only profile is described hereunder. Unlike the already known yard in which many speed control devices are installed on a down-grade to consume excess energy of cuts, the yard in the invention has hump height designed by taking operating conditions of moderate runners as a base and is provided with at least one up-grade speed control unit consisting of one up-grade section and a necessary number of boosters and retarders on the down-grade profile. This up-grade control unit could convert excess energy of cuts into potential energy. The invention could raise hump operating capacity of marshalling yard at a considerably reduced cost.

  • Patent number: 4765682
Abstract: A lock unit for use on automobile seats and the like of the type comprising a latch engageable with a stationary striker, and a ratchet engageable with the latch for retaining the striker in a first, confined position in the lock unit. In a second position of the latch, the latch is released from the ratchet, and the striker is freed. The lock unit has a wedge member whose movement is coupled with the movement of the ratchet into and out of engagement with the latch. The wedge member is urged resiliently to engage one side of the striker while the striker is subject to the binding action by the latch on its opposite side. Accordingly, loosening, chattering and rattling of the striker are suppressed. When the ratchet is moved out of engagement with the latch, the wedge member is moved away from the latch and the striker.

  • Patent number: 4759587
Abstract: A power driven screw jack with manual override for adjusting the inclination of a pivotable backrest in a recliner seat has a housing attachable to the stationary portion of the seat and a screw attachable to the backrest. A nut threaded on the screw is normally fixed to the housing such that the screw may be motor driven to obtain axial displacement of the screw through the housing. A nut release is manually actuatable for freeing the nut from the housing, whereby the inclination of the backrest is adjustable by either turning the motor driven screw with the nut locked to the housing, or by linearly moving screw through the housing together with the nut released from the housing as by pushing on the backrest in case of power failure to the screw motor.
